As is to be expected, there are koinobori hanging everywhere. Mother sent me a picture this morning of the kite they put up for me. It's a beautiful kite, several generations old... I'd be more comfortable if they would put it away somewhere for safe keeping. Father also brought out the family armor. I don't know why they bother. I'm the only son in the household, I'm grown, and I'm not living at home, anyway. Then again, logic and tradition couldn't even be called kissing cousins, half the time.
The festival was quite enjoyable. Festival games and fireworks are two of my favorite things, even better in combination. I got stuck at the goldfish for a while, though - I was kind enough to win one goldfish for a girl and suddenly I had a bevy of them requesting the same. Rinse, repeat at the shooting game. I at least walked away from that with a blue plush horse with beanbag feet. That aside, I get the impression everyone had a nice time. I've never seen you act quite so excited, Sanada.
5:45 in the morning doesn't work for me, either. Once more, just so the record reflects this fact.
