[ I have to wonder if people truly are as cruel as they're made out to be or if it is just that the simple-minded, snivelling masses have so much free time that they become bored and think themselves into a tizzy resulting in ironically thoughtless actions. Then again, taking a look at children, it becomes quite evident that humans and mutants alike are capable of unexpected cruelty when we do not have "filters" imposed upon us by society and the wisdom of age.
Of course, it is possible to be both diplomatic and cruel, but is it possible to be fully matured as a person and cruel?
Cruelty also can only be measured by the level-minded sort. Fairness can appear cruel if you have emotions invested in a situation, but who is to judge fairness? What are we left with when there is no neutral third-party?
I really do need to put away the philosophy books. ]
My final conclusion on the situation is that someone has too much time on their hands and nothing better to do but cause wanton destruction. I'm sure it accomplished whatever ends they were seeking, unfortunately. Humans think in the herd mentality - en masse they really are nothing but useless, frightened sheep.
