And now we present an infrequent update. Something to record the keyframes of the latest film unspooling in front of my eyes.
I've spent the last eight weeks doing very un-Austin like things and last night I went to sleep after laughing so hard my face hurt. Among the un-Austin things are quitting my job and quitting my marriage and generally divesting myself of anything remotely tiresome. And then, I meet this girl and we go from 0 to "we don't even understand what's going on" in two weeks.
Dates (for posterity):
Mid-May: quit marriage
Late May: quit job; met M (barely)
Mid-June: meet M again (barely)
Late June: follow M on Facebook. Talk. Barely.
July 4: finally hang out with M in person at her BBQ. For 15 hours (very un-Austin thing)
July 9, 10: meet M out (and do very un-Austin things)
July 15: 1st date (continued un-Austin things)
July 17: bbq with M and mutual friends. And my kid (an un-Austin thing)
July 19: 2nd date
July 22: 3rd date. And Aiden will be there. OMFG.
Seems reasonable for some, but I just went through two years of my life in two months and it's like watching someone else in a movie version of your life. A very natural, comfortable, and happy someone else.
So, all's good. Thats the update. I'll write again in two more months when I'm 80, have won two Nobel prizes, and have three grandchildren.
