IC Age: 23 || June 8th Stage Name: JUNIOR, Jr., or J.R Artiste/Trainee type: Idol Length of stay in DY Ent: Debuted April 2009, trainee since 2007, total time.. 5 years + Premade: The Smartass ◦ The leader of the group, he has wit that cuts like a knife. An attention seeker, he is prone to trouble despite being the leader but always manages to stay on top of things in the end. The rest don't necessarily respect his attitude, but they admire his overall talent.
Background: Just like his brother, Jonghyun hated the place called home. A place where t.v was a luxury and the family really have to work for every dime they earned. He wanted more opportunities at life and a chance to be somebody. How could he do it in a place like this? Were his parents really okay with how they were living? With nothing to their name and living in a town not worth knowing. He had to get out of there and had been secretly planning his escape, but at age 15 and little knowledge about the life outside his life, where would be possibly go; especially on his own. This was something he hadn't even mentioned to his brother. Fortunately, his brother and him had minds that think alike. The moment he saw his brother get up and heading out the door, he quickly grabbed his things and ran behind him. There was no way he was going to get left behind. Whether his brother wanted him around or not, he was going with him regardless. Anywhere was better than this.
Nothing could ever prepare him for the troubles they faced once they got to Seoul. It was nothing like home. Nothing easy to conquer, but to quit was to give up and that wasn't in Jonghyun's nature. They had to be resourceful and make it work to the best of their abilities. Even if that meant sleeping in unsanitary conditions, parks, eating food left behind from other people, or using newspapers as a blanket when he couldn't find anything much durable. Making money was tough, but with the few dollars they made doing odd things or even Jonghyun's specialty, pick-pocketing, they made it stretch the best they could. He had even went as far as use girls to take him out to dinner and stiff them with the check once he was full enough. This and other things he would do just to get by weren't exactly legal, but he stayed out of trouble if he could help it. Which wasn't very often. He was prone to trouble.
Besides his skills in pick-pocketing, he possessed great talents in singing, dancing, and even rapping, but supported his brother more so while he went label to label trying to follow his dream. Upon the auditions for DY Entertainment, a new starting label at the time, he decided he wanted to to try out along side his brother. Seeing a dream for himself on stage and living the way he should have been all along. Luck, as it seemed, had showed them mercy. DY took in him and his brother as trainees. Jonghyun worked hard, never slacked, and kept his mind on the prize. He felt like he deserved this and would work his butt off to keep it. Two years of training and he was soon debuting April 2009 in a group called "Blitz". A band that started off not to good, but hustled through their years for their lime light and got it. As leader, he wanted nothing more but to see the success of the group. Nothing was more important than their fame.
Life is good and it can only get better as long as things go the way he wants them to go.
Personality: For a kid who grew up with nothing and acquired something, Jonghyun had developed quite the attitude with his role in one of the top boy groups in Korea. His mouth is most likely his most charming weapon against people. Depending on the situation it could be used for getting in trouble as well as getting himself out. Sweet talking girls, although not everything he might say is completely accurate. Jonghyun is confident in himself as well as a head strong individual. He can be quite demanding in the things he wants. Like for instance, having a room to himself in the Blitz dorm. If denied he won't quit so soon in achieving it. Jr. can be quite the persistent one. There aren't many he would seriously listen to accept for DY-nim and his brother. Other than those two, trying to order this guy around and you're looking for a world of hurt. Many people think his heart is on a block of ice from the way he acts.
His smartass personality quirks aren't the only things this guys has to offer, but to dig deeper means you've some how made it to his good side. People on his this side have either grown accustomed to his dangerous charms or know how to throw back everything he dishes out. They've also discovered the "softer" side of him. Although small and very well hidden, this side is something that's worth digging for. It's the only place his attitude doesn't taint, but because of his smiles. They aren't always what they seem.
