Yeah, I also find it interesting how the media have essentially complied with all the memes the surprise winners sought to propagate in the aftermath. Consider, for instance, the "values voters" and "mandate" memes. (RFK Jr. and Al Franken point out just how specious the arguments underlying these memes are.)

For example, sure GWB won by the largest number of votes of any President. But, he also won by one of the narrowest percentage margins. Why the apparent discrepancy? We had record turnout! (Franken quotes specific numbers and sources in The Truth with Jokes. If I were at home, where the book is, I'd recount them here.)

I was especially surprised when, a few months back, there was an article in Mother Jones saying, essentially, "Get over it, Dems. Maybe, just maybe, the election wasn't stolen." WTF? Of course many in their readership weren't buying it, but still. Mother Jones?!

Anyway... I'm preaching to the choir, I'm sure. :-)
