Where were you...

1. When John F. Kennedy was shot? (11/22/1963)
On the third grassy knoll that they never told you about.

2. When Mt. St. Helens blew? (5/18/1980)
Surfing the mudslides oh yeah!

3. When the space shuttle Challenger exploded? (1/28/1986)
Don't remember.

4. When the 7.1 earthquake hit San Francisco? (10/7/1989)
I was in school that day.

5. When the Berlin Wall fell? (11/7/1989)
See number 4.

6. When the Gulf War began? (1/16/1991)
I was at home watching tv when President Bush (the good one) announced that Sadam had invaded Kuwait and in response the U.S. was going to force him out.

7. When OJ Simpson was chased in his White Bronco? (6/17/1994)
I was watching the Simpsons, how ironic, when Fox broke in and showed the chase live.

8. When the building in Oklahoma City was bombed? (4/19/1995)
I was in History class.

9. When Princess Di was killed (8/31/1997)
Me and my best friend Chris were at my house that night playing the playstation when my mom came into my room and told us that Princess Di's car had crashed and that she was dead.

10. When Bush was first announced President (11/7/2000)
Watching the news eager to find out whether we had a dumbass or a dumbass for president.

11. When the 6.8 earthquake hit Nisqually, WA (2/28/2001)
I was probably at home or at school, don't really remember hearing about that.

12. When terrorists knocked over the World Trade Center (9/11/2001)
I had just woken up to go to college and my dad yelled for me to come into his room. I walked in still half asleep and he was watching the news. He told me to watch this replay as they showed the second plane hitting WTC Tower 2. I woke up really fast as I saw the plane smash into the building erupting in the most sickening fireball I had ever seen. I looked at my dad and asked if I had really seen that just happen. I found out on the way to school that the pentagon had also been hit and that a fourth plane had gone down in a field in Pennsylvania heading for a target unknown although personally I believe it was headed for the White House. As I pulled into the parking lot the newscaster on the radio announced in the most depressing excited tone that WTC Tower 1 collapsed. I remember at that point the severity of the situation really hit me. I had always imagined the towers as indestructible especially after the first attempt to bring them down had failed. I just never imagined that something like this could happen on American soil. I mean I was so used to seeing this type of inhumane violence on tv in a country thousands of miles away from me. It just really hit home. I sat in horrific awe listening to the radio as the newscaster announced minutes after that WTC Tower 2 had collapsed. At that point I began to cry. The rest of the day is fuzzy.

13. When OIF began (take your pick- the presidential announcement of the expiration of the 48-hour ultimatum was at 10:15 PM EST on 3/19/03, the ground war commenced at 8 PM EST on 3/20/03).
I remember hearing the announcement and watching as the first cruise missles were fired from the USS Cook. As I watched I couldn't help but wonder exactly what it was Bush had gotten us into. Afghanistan was justifiable, Iraq was not. That is my view point and no amount of criticism will change that.

I think I did better than Jill.
