Well, no-one has posted their theories on the songs, so I'll go through songs in the key of sabriela

(Note: It's possible that the lists I have are wrong. There may also be some word-gags I don't have (they were mostly spur of the moment things on the covers).

Actually, on the off chance you want to look at the list and think of your own answers first,

What you feel - OMWF -
This was 'one of the OMWF tracks which I hadn't used on anyone else'. Meh.

Anything but ordinary - Avril -
I knew from previous experience that sabriela liked at least some avril. Plus, the title of this describes her so well.

A hazy shade of winter - Bodyjar
I wanted to keep all the songs unique to a single album, and drealle's already had hazy shade for other reasons. The title and other things made this an obvious choice.

Harry's wondrous world - HP soundtrack
It's good music, she likes HP.

Bohemian Rhapsody - queen
This was included largely on the basis of a stupid idea of mine. It was written as something like 'Lefty religious monarchist' a very weak play on the actual name and so on (you can stop groaning now).

Manic Monday - the bangles

A) sabriela likes the bangles, and so do I. B) It was the only decent day-name song I could find, and I wrote it in as 'manic wensday' - because I can't spell Wednesday for shite and sabriela always picks me up on it.

The droid invasion - The phantom menace soundtrack

sabriela sometimes calls me Android or droid, for various reasons. Hence this.

Zero - smashing pumpkins.

Cool song. Mmm....song.

Melbourne - the whitlams

Cool song, near locational reference

Somewhere I belong - linkin park

sabriela likes linkin park a lot. I like about three of their songs, and this is one.

Lastly, was Herme's song from futurama. I figured sabriela would appreciate the whole 'some people revel in the slow pain of burocracy' because of her never ending desire to have centrelink crushed from above somehow.

Anyway, these are my thoughts. I can see why no-one else has done this - it takes too much thinking, and I already know the answers!

Actually, I can do joybon's easily, as it was one theme 10 times.

Songs were: Under your spell/standing (reprise) OMWF, I am (killing Heidi), forgotten (avril), We're the replacements (TMBG), shadows of the past (fellowship of the ring), Lost without you (delta goodrem), the day you came (powderfinger), Still haven't found what I'm looking for (U2), and the theme song from muppets treasure island. Oh, and the 'parking ticket' song from OWMF.

What's the theme ingredient?

When joybon first joined our little menagerie, or actually not long thereafter, we decided to have a dinner to celebrate christmas (the crazy wacky things we do!) by having dinner at the green herring. You can probably here all about it in each of our journals somewhere deep south of here. Anyway, while discussing sending out an email to organise dates etc, I was talking (in the car on the way back from sabriela's place, IIRC) to the quiet Samurai and the Governors daughter. I said 'we should make it clear we are happy for people to bring partners'. They looked at me funny and said 'but...all of those of us who have partners/are not currently single (IE them and drealle and Neural) are already coming as they are part of the TV club'

I said 'Except joybon; she could bring her husband'. They looked at me even more funnily1 and said 'uh...she's not married'. I insisted that she was, and...well, anyway, sent out an email the next day (and described much the above conversation). And clearly, if this is a remotely interesting story2, I was wrong. This made it clear to me how little I knew of joybon in any way that could even remotely be called 'true'.

At lunch the next day, while walking towards the mall and thinking of what I could get people that was virtually free and still personal, I was listening to my IPOD3 and under your spell(reprise) came on. Mindlessly brainhumsing4 along to the music, I thought 'yes, I had my memories altered, that's why I think joybon is married!'.

And then I had the present idea, which was basically that with a small degree of sanity attached.

So, all these songs (except the muppet and parking ticket ones) are about the themes of loss of memory/not knowing someone/identity/being new

1 They may have been wearing clown makeup at this point; they surely couldn't have looked at me much funnier
2 um... from the point of other people than me. And frankly I conceed the point that it may not be anyway!
3 I really don't know why people deal with reality all the time when their is an option of music.
4 It's like that half humming half singing thing people do when driving, only less audible. I hope.

I'll post wesley_rdh and drealle's tomorrow.

Damnit! The preview shows me that multiple LJ-cuts in the same text do nothing. How annoying! Well, open either, open both it seems.
