Tools panel- Houses the tools you can use in the Fireworks work environment.

Tool groups- Different groups of tools

Property inspector- Panel where you modify selected objects and set tool properties and other options. Depending on the activity or action you are performing, information on the Property inspector changes.

Layers- Layers divide and arrange the elements of your document in logical front to back order. A layer can contain multiple objects, all of which are managed on the Layers panel.

PNG files- Portable network graphics, the default file format in Fireworks.

JPEG files- Joint photographic expert group.

GIF files- Graphic interchange format.

Object- An individual element in your document that are stored and managed on layers in the Layers panel.

Bitmap graphic- Represents a picture image as a matrix of dots, or pixels, on a grid.

Vector graphic- Mathematically calculated objects composed of anchor points and straight or curved line segments, which you can fill with color or a pattern and outline with a stroke.
