Okay, the night before
Intercon J and it's been a bit of a day. This is capped off with a wonky Internet connection so maybe this will get posted...maybe not until I reach some good tubes, somewhere.Metrocast has done it again--every time they "upgrade" our cable television, the cable Internet goes wonky. Of course, it's the day before I have to get out of here, so I can't stick around and wait for a serviceman.
I haven't written much in this journal, much less about Intercon. (I've updated Facebook more often over the last several months--it's seductively more easy to use in certain ways. I have more friends over on that service, too, including, unfortunately, my family, so it's hard to bring up certain things.) Whatever. There certainly won't be many updates for the next few days as I'll be at the convention where I hope to see a good chunk of my flist here.
So, today was a flurry of preparation and pre-packing. I pulled out allof the Con Suite equipment and leftover supplies and those are packed and ready to go. I've got the sodas lined up but not packed because I needed to see what kind of room I have when we get our personal (and costume, in the case of
citabria) luggage into our cars. Got said cars filled with gas and tweaked where necessary. Took care of cleaning up assorted things, like the bunnies. Did a lot of stuff now because it says rain is coming tomorrow. Fortunatley, I am not playing in any LARPs this time, being ConChair this time. I think my head might explode if I was.
I plan on getting to the Radisson by dinner time on Thursday but definitely want to be there for the Pre-Convention talks, especially
dkapell's. I am annoyed that I can't find any of my Intercon I paraphenalia that I'm sure includes my "Staff" button. On the other hand, I've got my Intercon D shirts and I'm told there are a few more so I can wear Intercon D shirts all weekend, which amuses me greatly. (In fact, if I seem to be ranting about things that happened in 2005, just hand me some coffee.)
I'm going to be doing the Pod GM again for Collision Imminent! (The Tenth Anniversary Cruise!) and am looking forward to annoying serving the wonderful crew and passengers. After all, Happiness(tm) is Job One for the Imagineerium crew! And we are Happy (tm) to serve! We are! Just ask us! (We get HappyPoints(tm) when you ask us! And, I'm only 4,901 HappyPoints(tm) away from getting an Official HappyPin(tm)!) I also have a copy of Holiday Season that I'll put up a signup sheet for Saturday afternoon and maybe evening. It looks like we may still be short on LARPs.
Every New England Intercon has been awesome in its own way but sitting here, late at night, my mind wanders to might-have-beens. One of the things that I think we did right this year was getting the convention survey online. The response was huge, compared to previous years, and I want to set up the after-convention survey to be anonymous yet useful. (If you don't measure it, you don't know what you got.) The Pre-Convention wasn't as well advertised as it should have been and should have been covered in the program book, too. I really wanted some J Plates to go with my D Cups, too. (Okay, I'm kidding about that.) Maybe after the convention I'll post about some of the other things.
My drink is finished and its late. I need to respond to a few more messages and then get something like a good night's sleep since the next few days I won't be able to. See you all on the other side.
