BEGIN2010
Wow. A long time since the Odometer Millennium. And still no flying car.
Stupid future. :-(
And, it seems that those silly 200X glasses are indeed a fading bit of pop culture and I didn't see a single pair of "2010!!" glasses anywhere. So, my only prediction for the new year was wrong. (Either that, or I missed a chance to make a quick buck.) So now we are in the Decade of Teen Angst.
The last few days have been low key and filled with unpacking. I was finally getting over the MI Death Cough on New Years Eve and
citabria is now deep into it. Hopefully it will taper off soon, too.
We did breakfast with
castalusoria as she came through Putnam to see us during her holiday travels so at least there was some human contact. And, it's been snowing a bit so there's been that to deal with. Managed to avoid an accident while getting supplies. (No, not french toast supplies, bunny supplies.) We couldn't really spend any more energy going out that night but we toasted the New Year together and cuddled.
Yesterday was also Bowl Day, starting with the Tournament of Roses Parade. I had the parade on and was casually watching it when I looked up and saw dancers dressed in pink. Oops. Forgot to wake
citabria. Ran upstairs, got her up, and then rewound the DVR so she could watch it all.
Had to watch the Capital One and Rose Bowls, of course. (To be sure that the Big Ten teams there didn't embarass themselves.) The Capital One Bowl was next and, well, I was a little sad to see that Orlando was cool and rainy. A little unfair to the Nittany Lions. I mean, you earn a spot in a New Years Day Bowl, in Florida, and you get there and the weather is lousy. However, both PSU and OSU did well and they were both great games. It was nice to see egg on the faces of the ESPN blowhards suggesting that the Big Ten doesn't do very well in bowl games.
Um, I had something else to write but it slipped my mind. Maybe later.
