Well, there's not much to say. My cold or flu or whatever the hell it is that seems to keep creeping back into my body every couple weeks has now started to wreak havoc upon me, yet again.
It's film fest weekend.
So far, I've seen-
Standing In The Shadows Of Motown, and I could've done without Gerald Levert's butchering of my/our beloved Motown songs.
Blue Vinyl, which was decent, not great, however the cinematography was good. I think the maker of it, suffers from a little too much Michael Moore worship. But then, there's only so much you can do with a documentary.
Every Day God Kisses Us On The Mouth LOVED IT, and had this film been shot in color, I think it would've had less of an emotional impact- why aren't there more movies like this?
The Last Question- In the time it takes a bullet to travel from a gun to its target, a middle-aged writer must decide if he wants to die. This was actually funnier than I thought it would be.
Daughter From Danang Falling For Art On today's menu:
Fanalysis Running Time
Daughter Fatal Fallout- A chilling examination of the what-if scenario and the all-too-real history of public exposure to radiation from carcinogenic x-ray exams to the bombing of Hiroshima to the recent accidents at Three Mile Island and Chernobyl.
Das Rad-
Apparently, rocks are having conversations all around us, but they talk very, very slowly
A spunky, mini-skirted Vietnamese high school exchange student comes to America expecting the stuff of American movies and instead encounters rural Mississippi populated with rednecks, Pentecostal and black Baptist host-families, transvestites and more. Hilarious, voyeuristic, wise and "only in America"bizarre.
When Cathy finds the magical formula to meet her Prince Charming, she doesn't waste a minute.
Horns And Halos During the Croatian war of 1994, three Serb soldiers are positioned near a deserted village where they stumble upon a television and its owner, a stubborn old woman.
Bubba Ho Tep Tomorrw-
Brian Innis, a poor graduate student, signs on for a paid sleep-deprivation study to be conducted during his spring break. From his apartment and the nearly deserted campus surrounding, he diligently attempts to fulfill the rituals of the study, but everyone he encounters begins to sense his deviation from normal life and withdraws.
