Whooooaaaaa doggy I just got back from El Ski Trip with the Methodist church...hot damn I found my sport. Skiing is the shiznit, motherfuckers...I know what I want to do in the Army now. Seriously. It's that fun. One hell of a workout, to boot, but the only workout I've every absolutely and completely enjoyed.
Just gonna say, I now have a lot of respect for those Olympic skiers. Skiing is nowhere near as easy as it looks, no sir. That shit is HARD.
Steven Walker and I were the only n00bz to even attempt a Black Diamond slope(that's insanely difficult for all of you who haven't skied). I feasted on snow my first attempt, but aced my second run. Steven only did it once and the Ski Patrol guy at the bottom told him not to do a Black Diamond ever again. We both laughed.
I like speeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeed.
Cal Newman, Kevin Gibson, and Steven Walker were pretty much naturals at skiing. It took me a bit longer to catch on but I eventually got up to their level. I was quite happy, and I definitely enjoyed myself.
There will be a next time. And everyone I know should go next time. Trust me, it's well worth the exercise. And the cost. You get used to the cold pretty quick. Falling is fun. Seriously, go. All of you.
