So I bought some new kicks over the weekend. I was so excited to finally get a pair of black Converse All Stars. I try not to be a girl and own a million pair of shoes, so I had been holding out for the past 7 months since the last pair I bought. They felt fine and dandy in the store. But on carpet in an air conditioned store is different from hiking across the FSU campus multiple times in a day with a backpack full of books in 90 degree weather (heat index closer to 100). Thank goodness we don't have any real hills in this place. My feet are totally destroyed. At least the shoes are comfortable to sit and stand in...I'll have to buy a Segway to go along with my new shoes now. I don't know if I got them too small or what, they felt huge in a 10 (my normal size) so I went down to a 9. Now that I've worn them for a day I can't take them back...even if I can get the small scuffs and stuff off of the tops the bottoms definitely show some wear. I guess I can't beat myself up too much about it since they felt good when I tried them on, and they weren't that expensive. Live and learn I suppose.
On another note, today was bad enough since it (c)(sh)(w)ould have been four years, but I had the luck of actually bumping into them today. We are on good terms and I wish them the best, but it knots my stomach and I wish I could crawl in a hole every time I see them.
