I'm finally updating again. Last weekend was awesome. Several of us from the house went into Chicago to the Art Institute for class. We had lunch at Bennegan's and Kristine and her suitemate came and joined us. I love having friends from Stroudsburg near me. Then I wandered aroudn the European paintings forever trying to find a painting to analyze for my CC Word and Image class. Finally found a painting and spent an hour sitting in front of it writing down stuff. Last five minutes i was there a dude came in and starting lecturing on my painting. Got some good stuff from him.
Ben Dahlke and I started a mentorship with the Northwest Indiana symphony Youth Orchestra. Last sunday we led a full wind/brass sectional for an hour. Scary stuff, but a great experience. This past Sunday we led another sectional, as well as worked with a string quartet.
This past Saturdya I went to the Field Museum with 6 other CC students in a CC sponsered trip. We toured the brand new Machu Picchu exhibit which was way cool. Then we went to a concert of puruvToday I ian music. Also way cool. Then we went to a puruvian restaurant. Again, way cool.
Classes have been fairly busy with midterms. I kicked butt on my trumpet playing quiz. Now I have a euphonium. Way cool. I had a snare drum and bell midterm today. Very scary. But Ashley Jordan and I prevailed on our awesome duets!
Tuesdays at Chapel Break are contemporary services with a skit that the House writes. I got to be God. I jumped on Phil's back (who was playign Jacob) and then I "dislocated" his hip. It was way cool. See Genesis 32:22-30. I now have a God complex.
Tomorrow at 5pm begins our Fall Break. I'm heading to Aunt Jo's house in Detroit with Katie Krueger. It shall be fun times. I promise to update when I get back.
