So who had a cool weekend? Jen did. Friday was awesome. I got up and had morning prayer, then I watched Surivor and Lucy back to back. How cool is that? I only had two classes and then I hung out at the house with everyone. Then my day got even better b/c Kristine came. Woohoo! I went to pick her up at the train station in Hezekiah, the world's best car. We stopped at my grandfather's for a sleeping bag and went to Culver's for dinner. Yummmy hot caramel custard. Then we went to Walmart and bought a lot of sticky buns. I was in charge of making brunch for the house yesterday, so Kristine and I (and Lora and Katie) made sausage/egg/cheese cassarole and refridgerated it overnight. Kristine was introduced to my friends by watching the movie, "Waking Life," which is a 4-year CC marathon condensed into 90 minutes. Really interesting movie, but I think Kristine was a little scared. We had evening prayer afterwards and then about 8 of us slept downstairs on teh couches. It was lots of fun. Kristine and I got up the next morning and took a walk to old campus, then we had brunch. Then I gave her the grand tour of Valpo and hung out at Come Together, a BBQ sponsered by all the Christian organizations on campus. The weather was gorgeous and all we wanted to do was sleep in the sun. Alas, Kristine had to go back to Chicago (sniff)and I took her to the train station. Woohoo for Kristine!
I stopped at Pop's on the way back and picked up a bike for Katie Benjamin. She was really happy about it and it matches Jeff's bike, which is cute. She even put a bell on the bike. It goes "Ding Ding." Lora and I decided to make applesauce last night, so we went picking apples by Huegli Hall. It was amazing applesauce and Phil and his sister made cinnemon bread and together they were fan-TAB-u-lous. We all watched Master and Commander, which is think is a good movie but Laura thinks is boring. I ran a hotel out of my room last night. Dan's friend Laura and Phil's sister both slept in my room. Kinda fun.
The sermon was way long today (try like 40 minutes) but it was Walt Wangerin, so that made me happy. Practiced for a long time and did some homework. Stupid musicianship. Karl and Charlie made dinner tonight--168 hot dogs. We have a lot left. I had a Horn Stars rehearsal, then went to Candlelight. Then we came back and had prayer in which we tried to sing a hymn in a round. Don't try that at home, boys and girls. Then I lost my voice laughing so hard from listening to the boys and Meghan run through Tuesday's chapel skit. After a long weekend (I feel like I posted a Julie-length post) it's time for bed.
