Blooming heck!!!! That was what i needed. I weekend in derby!!!! Agghhhh. When to dan n jens on saterday night and met up with luke, sue, kirsten and susannah. I had a really good night...and following day. Particularly all the great food which was prepared for me. 'Thanks buffet jen!!!!!!!'
Before that i was at stage coach and had an up and down morning. The lessons i had in the morning were either fine or went well. but in the afternoon i had 3 20 min session with kids that had come along for a taster session. Even worse that that ...and what i didnt realise untill the last minute....were that these taster sessions were in front of parents. so i had big groups of kids who i didnt know and just 20 mins to make my subject seem great and interactive with all the kids parents sitting their watching them. This was fine with the 6-9 year olds...the 910-12 yr olds were a bit stand off-ish. But the 13-16 were an absolute nightmare. They just stood their and looked at me. With everybody wathcing they just wouldnt join in or participae in anything. I got better work out of 6 yr old that 14 yr olds because they just would not respond. It may have been one of the worst 20 mins of my life....especialy as the 13+ class i have are all so responsive...it was a real shock with these other kids. I had a couple of girs turn up dressed so inapropriatly that it was actually indecent for them to do a physical warm up. I was massivly surprised that 2 (out of the 15 kids their) chose to sign up to join the classes. Still we did better witht e younger and middle age group. So i will have lots of new kids to meet on saterday morning. Whcih will be a bit of a bummer for the class dynamic i have gotten together...apart from in the lower age group where the dynamic is rubbish. so that wont be such a shame. Might ballence it out a bit. Anyway. Enough about that.
Well i am gonna have to learn some lines now...but i have had a great weekend. It was loverly to see everybody that i saw...and i miss you all....(why isnt kirsten on here by the way???)
See ya later everybody.
Six.
