"In Jurisprudence he presents us with a tragicomic situation. Thre young men are aitting at a table absorbed in a difficult legal problem. The man in the middle seems unequal to the mental demands that are being made on him, his fixed, vacant gaze suggest that his state of mind may be in jeopardy. Perhaps the picture is warning us against studying law, since there are too many lawyers as it is."
