havent updated for a long time, but i do still read everyones journals. i have had a pretty eventful weekend, so i thought i woudl post it on here so that i dont have to explain it to loads of ppl, i can just send them the link :) - im lazy lol. if u dont want to read my huge explanation of my weekend away in paris with karen tehn skip this, or go to the picturesa at the bottom lol.
so yeh it was karens birthday yesterday (sunday) and i have been trying to arrange to take her to paris for the weekend. i only managed to get the eurostar tickets on monday because her paretns got them (theya re free cos her dad works there), so i didnt bookt eh hotel until monday aswel! but yeh.. lastminute.com does rule. and so then i look at my passport and realise its out of date.... oh shit. so i had to ring up teh passporty ppl and get an appointment to go to london to get a new one! so on thurs, sfter my maths exam i went to london lol. i got to st albans station to leave at 12:15 and my appoinment in lonodn was 12:45! but i somehow made it , liek 5 mins late. then i had a 4 hour wait until it was made so i walekd rodn the whoel onf london while i was waiting. bucky palace, st james park, hyde park, the lake, marble arch, oxford street, regent street, picadilly circuis, lesciter square, trafalgar square, houses of parliament and big ben, downing street... etc etc. did u knwo there is a "moon under water " whetherspoons in lesitersquare, (there is alos 1 in st alabns for those of u who dont know). i stopped for a pint there! so yeh then i gotmy passport back and got hom ein teh rush hour. it was gayyy and i got huge blisters. then i had a hectic day sorting out hte rest of the shopping and money and E111 forms and all that bollcoks.
so tehn karens mum comes over on fri nite and drops teh tickets and her hosue key...
the start of the weekend
5:30 i wake up, get to karens hosue for 6, let myself in and then print off the hotel confirmation and booking slip (my printer has no ink). i wake her up at 6:15 and she sees me, sitting there and shes liek "what the hell ?" "why are you here, i hve to go to work" and im like "no u dont" and shes liek "what day is it" and im like "satuday but ur not going to work! your coming to london for a picnic with me !" (it was a coverup as to why i had a big bag of food and why we were going to waterloo) n.b. i had already booked her off work in readyness.
so she gets up adn her dad takes us to watford junction at about 7:15am. we get trains, and get to waterloo at some time (cant remember) and i present her with the tickets! but i sed that we were only goign to paris for a day.
so we get intot eh eurostar bit and have a 45 min wait cos we were early.. we get ontot eh train and all that. nice journey, 1st class, 3 course breakfast and stuff.
then we arrive in paris!! at about 12:15 in the afternoon .so after geting highly confuised witht eh multitude of metro lines, and trying to find our way to the right ones from this huge international french station, we got the the champs elysees! its liek teh oxford street of paris, huge shopping place , really rich. we walk down it abuot 3 minutes, and turn off onto a road, and walk down that for about 2 minutes, and im liek "we have to go in here" (drags gf into hotel) then shes liek "what are we doing here" and im like "we have to be quick, we are leaving at 5:45..... tomorrow!" so we check in and go to our room, and this hotel is LUSH!!! there was a card on teh table that sed "dear mr and mrs littledike, we hope you enjoy your stay... lol"
so there was air conditioning, sofa, tabel and chairs, desk, king size bed, widescren satelltie tv, stereo, 2 mini fridges of drink, safe, bathroom with a jacuzzi, etc etc. so yeh we spent a little time there, then we left for dinner at about 5ish? seen as champs elysees is liek uber expensive we got a trian to a diff bit, near the river seine, i was hoping to find a restaurant liek next to it.. but its liek teh tahmes, high walls and all that so we looekd aroudn for one where all teh shopsand stuff were. we evetnallu foun a nice pizza one and got a three course meal (mmm creme caramel) and drinks etc, and also dound the 1st little supermaket we had sen in paris, where we bouht loads of snacky food for the hotel room, beer, malibu, coke etc (i already had wine). then we ewnt to teh arc de triopmhpe.
sow e went back to teh hotel room, got pissed, watched some tv whiel teh jacuzzi fileld up, jacuzzied, etc etc.. wont go into details. finally got to bed at 3:30 am, after beign awake for 22 hours!
so then sunday, we wake up at 9am, karen opened her presents, we had breakfast in bed delivered - loooaadds of food lol. they gave u a list andu tick the boxes of what u want to eat, so we ticked liek everythign!! then we had a shower and packed up,a dn left the hotel at 12. when we were leaving the offered to have our suitcases until we actually got hte train home, so we sed yeh , and i was like "karen go stand over there, u cant see somthing!" so the nice lady at reception took her away while o got somethign out of my suitcas thing ad put it into my backpack thing... and while karen is talkignto the nice french lady, teh french lady is liek "ooh is it your birthday?" and karens liek "yeh" and the lady is liek "i liek your necklace, is it a present from your bf?" and karens liek "yeh i got it today" and then the lady is liek"i liek your ring, is that a present too" and karens like "yeh!" and then the lady is liek " awww u have a very beautiful boyfriend, u should keep him!" (in french accent) which meade me laugh lots lol.
so tehnw e went to the eiffel tower, queued for like 90 minutes to get to teh top... then came liek str8 back down lol. then we sat outside tehis fountain thing outside trocadero i go the moet out! got pretty tipsy on champagne and then went back to teh champs elysees.. got a baguette and stuff, and we were gonna sit and eat it but karen was liek " we shoudl prob go get out stuff and make amove, we might miss the train! " so i was like ok.... so we went back tot he thotle, go tour bags,a nd then got 3 metros to teh station...
we get tehre, and get up into teh main bit of the staito nand there is this anouncement in freanch,., and i e=hear the words "eurostar and quinze blah blah (43 in french, i cant remember hwu ay it, but i understood it lol) and i was like "hm must be an annoucnemnt about ou train, o wel." then ther eis the enlgish version. "all passengers, this is teh FINAL call for the 17:43 eurostar to london" and we are liek "shiiittttt!" so we couldnt find the check in bit and were running around, and we finally got to the gate and got through, lieterally 20 seconds befroe they shut it off..... well close!! thenw e got hte train back.
train back was kl, nice meal, betteer service - you coudl have wine or champagne, and i got quite drunk on red wine, had a bout a pint of it lol. they kept coming back aevery ten minutes asking if you wanted more! then i fell asleep for th last 30 mintues, scott style (unawakeable). karen was like poking me, and hsaking me,a nd then she lifetd my chin up.. and my head fel down lol! i woke up when the train stopped tho, and then we got back to watford junciton amd n got picked up , and that was our weekend in paris! it was wel gd, and wel memorable. check the pictures below! :) tehy take a while to load, so give tehm a chance!
