Yes. I was too. I thought it was the perfect movie to watch with an old (male) flatmate I hadn't talked to in ages. Good dumb fun which we could laugh about afterwards, but blimey, it was actually good.
I look forward to the next Marvel Studios outing, as I've enjoyed both of their movies so far. Iron Man is better in my opinion, as Robert Downey Jr. is better as Tony Stark than Edward Norton is as Bruce Banner, but both movies were good fun.
I feel I should qualify that last statement. Robert Downey Jr. is better because he is more entertaining as Tony Stark than Ed Norton is as Bruce Banner.
There is a good argument to say that Robert Downey Jr. stars as Robert Downey Jr. in his latest film 'I am Robert Downey Jr.'.
Whereas Ed Norton has the thankless task of realistically portraying Bruce Banner. SPOILERS follow in white font: Bruce Banner is supposed to be the quintessential scientist tormented by the creation he has unleashed upon the world through his own arrogance. The modern-day Dr. Jekyll. And Ed Norton does a great job of portraying that. When Betty Ross starts implying that he could control it and he cuts her off saying "I don't want to control it... I want to get rid of it." the movie came together all of a sudden for me. The other scientist and the special ops dude have that same desire but when confronted by the potential for destruction, they don't hesitate, they embrace it, one for visceral power, the other due to hubris.Anyway, went off on a bit of a

I dunno; I thought Tony Stark was pretty much like I expected from the references to him in the various comics I read. I don't actually read Iron Man directly, but I always had that playboy impression of Stark.
It's called Good Casting. Just as Christian Bale is the perfect casting for Batman, and Tobey MacGuire owns Peter Parker.
Robert Downey Jr. is just more fun, and unfortunately for Ed Norton that's just the nature of the characters they play.
Well, Tony Stark is more fun than Bruce Banner. I suspect Robert Downey Jnr is also more fun than Ed Norton, but there's just no way I'll ever be able to find that out for myself. :)

That's closer to what I was meaning to say. A good example of the subjunctive in action.
"The Subjunctive...
making your world less indicative since Indo-European prehistory."
