Garfield: The Movie Contest!!!
In my first live journal entry waaaay back on December 17 2003, I was very excited about Garfield: the Movie. Back in December, the original release date for Garfield was June 18 but some of Mr. Noon’s more rabid fans (yes, this means that all of you are a bit rabid) reminded me that it’s now opening this Friday, June 11. I guess the hunger strike that I vowed to go on back in December shook things up enough to move the release date up one week. Either way, here’s an excerpt from my first entry, which I feel I must now make good on:
“Who am I kidding? Sure I’m going to be there opening night! AND SO WILL YOU! Don’t believe me? I guarantee that by June 18, 2004, you the reader(s) will be so moved by my undying passion for Garfield The Movie that you’ll be right beside me in the theatre, squeezing my hand during every heart-wrenching scene. If there are more than two of you reading this, I’ll hold a contest the week before the Movie opens to see who’ll be sitting beside me.”
That’s what I wrote and some of you want to hold me to it, so I’ve decided to hold a contest to see which two lucky readers will be watching Garfield: the Movie with me. If you win this contest, don’t expect me to cover your admission or anything, I only stated that the contest would determine who would sit beside me. Maybe I’ll throw in a lasagna dinner at Mama Leone’s Kitchen. For those who aren’t Garfieldaphiles, Mama Leone’s is the Italian restaurant where Garfield was born. Wait, that’s just a cartoon restaurant, Ooops! I guess I’m not covering a lasagna dinner either! I’ve decided to make this a colouring contest so to enter, colour this picture (to download, right click and save picture as). This amazing picture was taken when I infiltrated the set of Garfield: the Movie, earlier this year. It was a hoot, they were even shooting a hilarious dance number with Garfield when I ran by.
