For those I haven't talked to yet, I won the College Poetry Read-Off. I now have 150 dollars made through poetry. I don't think you can spend poetry money like you do regular money. I think you have to do something inspiring with it. I mean, inspiring for yourself. If it inspires other people too, that's cool, I suppose. Anyway, I've been thinking about using part of it to get food for homeless people downtown, like we did last Summer. I've also been thinking about taking a few people to a nice restaurant, but that might be too expensive. I've also thought about buying a whole bunch of poetry books with the money. That would be inspiring as well.
Emily Watson let slip (well, it wasn't really much of a slip) that I won the Best Of Poetry award for this issue of Genesis. I don't know which poem it was that won, or when they are going to officially tell me I won. Assuming I really did win.
Anyway, I'm in a really good mood right now. And, I found out about a new poetry reading, which is every second wednesday of the month, at the Writer's Center.
