Stumbling down the slickened steps of Ladder Street into the crowds on the western bend of Queen's Road Central, with its run of supermarkets, antique-shops and Chinese cafes, I stumbled onto three policemen waiting at the traffic lights.
One of whom, wearing the rank of inspector, was white.
Felt like I'd stumbled back in time to circa 1973 or something.
