Oh boy, where to start. Kelly and I are doing very well. It's been almost 4 months that we've been together and everythings great!! She's in Woodstock now and I miss her lots. I spoke with her on the phone tonight and she'll be back tomorrow. We're gonna go check out a movie. Not sure which one, but we'll figure it out when we get there. We intend on moving in together not this summer, but hopefully next summer. That will give me time to pay off my car and also give us time to consult a lawyer on all the advantages/disadvantges of being common law spouses. Just have to cover all our bases.... I'm sure I'll move in with regarless but we both want to know whats involved in a common law marraige first.

The job is also going well. I submitted a reccomendation form for the Preffered Customers Dept. just the other day. When i picked up the form at the receptionists desk, however, the receptionist mentioned that alot of people had picked up a form to submit. It was almost discouraging at first, but i filled it out regardless, to the best of my ability and the only thing missing was my statistics, which i needed to obtain from my EDA (Employee Development Assistant). He told me he'd look them up and hand the form back to me, finalized. The next day, i still hadn't recieved it, so i asked about it and he said it had already been submitted to my Supervisor. Prior to telling me so, he mentioned that he spoke with my Supervisor about how well I had done the night before. The best part is that i did even better that night.

Some time later into my shift, I recieved an email from my buddy Garret in the CSG (Customer Service Group) Dept. mentioning that two positions were opening very soon. At this point I was unsure if I wanted to go the way of the Prefered Customers Associate, or the Customer Service Represtative. I hummed and hawed as I worked. Now, CSG is based making calls. It's a telemarketing position, and I've done telemarketing before while working for UPS, so I probably wouldn't have any trouble getting the postion. As for the Preffered position, well, I'm not entirely sure what that encompases. I am sure it would be much more difficult to obtain the position. Quite some time ago, somebody had tried to explain to me what the responsibilities of the Preffered Dept. were, and to this day I can only remember that some companies import enough volumn to qualify as a preffered customer. In the run of a day I encounter some of the preffered accounts and some have thier own section in our online reference manual, which we must consult before submitting the paperwork to Canada Customs. I think its the mystery of the job that attracts me, but I've decided to pursue it, rather than the CSG position.

I'm also still chopping away at my Canada Customs Certification Course. I hope to have my first online quiz submitted by this Wednesday and start working to the next 10 chapters which have cover the quiz that needs to be submitted in early February. After the course is finished, though, I still don't know what I want to do. At this point, I figure I can try to advance at UPS or I could move back to Woodstock and work at the Customs port there. Sure, those aren't my only options, but it is what I'm considering at the moment. I'll probably pursue the prior, being that Kelly still won't be finished university yet. I guess its a matter of playing my cards day by day. Only time will tell what happens next.
