I was assigned "V" by
watersaredeep I wasn't as up to the challenge as I thought I was. But perseverance and and a bit of hunting and I the following. Originally I tried to limit myself to songs I actually owned, but I couldn't quite do it. I also did like a few others and went over five simply because there are so few reasonably known songs that start with that letter.
Vincent - Don Mclean - The only other song of his I really remember. HIs greatest hits had songs on it I didn't recognize.
Voodoo Chile (slight return) Jimi Hendrix - From Electric Ladyland. I think this was my second Hendrix album. It was an awakening to the power of guitar. This song in particular can still give me chills in the solo.
Veronica - Elvis Costello - My introduction to Elvis Costello. I like him, and I liked the music, but I have a hard time picking up lyrics because I keep hearing the voics as another instrument which I tune out in order to listen to the guitar. Even my 3 year old can pick up lyrics faster than me :)
Viva Las Vegas - Elvis Presley - I have never owned any elvis with the exception of one really early vinyl of gospel songs. The closest thing I have to him and this song is an Elvis impersonater singing "Stairway to Heaven" and successfully making it sound like Viva Las Vegas.
Vera - Pink Floyd - Um, is this really long enough to be considered a song?
Video Killed the Radio Star - The Buggles - never owned it but liked it.
Vivance - Yngwie Malmsteen - Very cool guitarist that should have been able to do a wider range of things. I would love to have heard him play jazz.
Voulez-vous coucher avec moi (ce soir)? - by Patti Labelle and others - Yes, I remember this coming out. I know that I do not own a copy :)
