yesterday was fantastic! the opening reception was wonderful, my drawings looked great, and everyone seemed to like my work. i feel like i can finally relax a little bit!
i worked so hard to put this body of work together, and i feel like this show is the culmination of all the time and work i've put in my undergraduate studies. forget graduation, forget the degree. this event was more important to me than any of that will be. i doubt i'll even come back next spring to participate in commencement. send me my diploma in the mail, i'm moving on with my life! i'm so grateful to everyone who came to support me. it was so incredibly important to me that my friends and family were there with me through this step in my life. the next time i do something like this it will be professionally!
that being said, i was a little disappointed that some of the people who had previously told me that they would make it backed out last minute. i only hope that they realized how much their presence would have meant to me when they decided not to come.
