reflections of a 21st
my 21st turned out well.
I had no real expectations for it and so I think that's why it was so good. Does that last sentence even make sense?
ok, to recap:
Thursday night was pagliacci night out. We won this competition and so Matt, the owner, took us out to baguette box for dinner and a night of gameworks. This included much gaming, DDR & guitar hero with Belle, endless ice hockey matches and birthday drinks. my "bosses" bought me birthday shots and prissy cocktails, which topped off the night perfectly.
Friday I worked. It would have normally have been a hellish shift, but the fact that it was my birthday made me untouchable and what would have normally pissed me off (i.e. annoying customers), washed right over me. [pagliacci] ian made me a birthday gift and gave it to me after work. It's incredible. It's this huge stencil poster of a guy doing (what i believe is called) suspension art. I love ian.
That night I went out to Mamma Melina's with the abuelos, esther, bobby, and jessica. The food was amazing and they got me the nicest gifts. Esther gave me a bottle of champagne and said i could share it with jessica on an "intimate" night.
Later on friends came over for cake and beer. Jessica made me the best cake ever. It had light blue frosting, rainbow sprinkles, and funfetti cake mix. PERFECT.
Just a small group of us hit the bars. But I kind of liked that. Jo met us (ada, bill, jessica and i) at the cha cha. It's always fun hanging out with her. She's very open and unafraid to share what she's thinking. After she left, the four of us went over to the bus stop where i ran into sylvia. I dont remember what else happened, but we left there around 1:30am or so.
what jessica got me (aka the best gifts ever):
* tickets to the production of Edward Scissor Hands
* a homemade shirt with la virgin de guadalupe on the backside
* american apparel undies
* homemade bandana with a tiger patch sewn on
* the book "all about us"
i helped tara move in this morning and then took a six hour nap (i did outreach the previous night). I wasn't so tired when i started this, but i am now.
