Since I moved into the co-op, at the end of July, I still haven't unpacked my personal computer(s). Instead, I've been keeping up with email on the public shared computers, and it's helped me to spend less time in front of these 21st century idiot boxes. If you need to get ahold of me, or want to update me on something, feel free to drop me an email or phone call. If you don't have either, leave an anonymous comment with your contact info - they're pre-screened, so I'll drop you a line and delete the comment.
I changed taxi companies to Amazingbluetaxi.com, where I drive the car that's licensed as a Limo with the state of Michigan, rather than as a Taxi with the city of Ann Arbor. This means that I can pickup *anywhere*, but I cannot run a taximeter.... so I flat-rate most stuff, and run the trip odometer if I don't know the milage.
Profits are up, stress is down, the equipment and the clientèle is better, and the owner actually runs his business. Bluecab charged me 50% of metered earnings, Amazingblue charges $300/week. To put it in perspective, counting tips and after gas, I can make more than that on one Football Saturday.
I had my heart broken again... it happens.
Life in the co-op is good. It's still weird, especially since the house filled up nearly to capacity, and the politics are heating up now that people are starting to encroach on each other, but it's still hella better than living alone - and having to scrounge my own meals.
A couple that I fixed up are going through some problems, possibly irreconcilable.
A friend I've had for years just recently informed me that he can't be friends with me, for my racist remarks.
I still haven't done diddly much on the issue of getting into Grad School. The app deadline is Dec. 15, and I really should have already taken the GRE's. I've just been working so damn much, the new company's deal encourages full-time - like 50-60 hrs.
