Jongdae did it again. Only, this time he even caught himself red handed. The sad thing was, he didn't even intend to do something against his bad habit, maybe it wasn't really a bad habit and more his own guilty pleasure. He wasn't sure, but he also didn't really care. His band member was just to... fascinating.

“... and then he was helping the staff with all the decoration for the Photoshoot. He really is just to nice for himself and he was...” Jongdae was currently sitting on his bed, telling Luhan about their band member. It was always the same, it became some kind of routine. He seemed to pay most of his attention towards this certain person and if you would ask Luhan, Jongdaes best friend, he would say the other was madly in love, but Jongdae himself would never even think about that, even though the one he was currently talking about occupied his mind almost 24/7.
Luhan accepted that, he still thought it was love, but if his friend thought otherwise, so would it be. He wouldn't tell him that if he thought about the other that much, then it was supposedly love. Or that if any other human being would hear him talk about this certain band member they would immediately think it was his crush. He wouldn't tell him that with talking about said person every day, with telling Luhan about him and what he did during the day, Luhan knew it was Love or at least a mayor crush. Well he wouldn't tell that Jongdae twice. Because he already did and meet a brick stone wall of incomprehensibility. Now he waited patiently for him, to get it himself or maybe not so patiently.

Yixing was currently cooking their meal and even though Minseok was rambling about some unimportant and uninteresting stuff, pausing almost every second to add an "aehm..," or "you know" into his sentences, due to his lake of Chinese words, Yixing was still listening closely, trying to help him out with words and explaining him what some other words meant.
Of course Jongdae himself was only guessing that because if Minseok had trouble understanding something or needed something to be explained then their was no chance for him to understand even one word. His Chinese was awful. So awful that he never said anything during interviews, even though he was laughing and nodding along, whenever the others did something like that. But that was it. It was more about coping his Band members than even trying to understand what the MCs were saying. He really tried though, during the first minutes he was always all edger to prove himself this time, that he indeed understood everything they were saying. But he always lost track one time or another, so that in the end he couldn't follow the topic any more and ended up imitating his Band members once again.
Sometimes Luhan noticed his troubles and during a break or when the camera wasn't pointing at them he told Jongdae what they were currently talking about or he told him one or two vocabularies so that Jongdae could understand more. Of curse they would then talk in Korean , because even though Jongdae felt kind of stupid for it, Luhans Korean was much better, than his own Chinese. That might or might not, be the reason why him and Luhan got along the best.

"Jongdae! Jongdae are you listening?" Said one was brought out of his thinking state. "Oh I'm sorry Luhan, you were saying?" Luhan laughed at the others behaviour. “I was telling you to cut it out. He already saw you staring and Yixing isn't dumb sooner or later he will figure it out.” Jongdae titled his head slightly to his left, clearly showing his irritation. The older only sighed quite loudly “Well let's see who figures it out first, him or you and currently I'm betting on him.” With that said he stood up from the couch were both were sitting on and made his way out of the living room, but not before he turned around one last time.
“Jongdae weren't you supposed to take care of the laundry today?” He asked rather loudly, actually to loud to let only Jongdae hear it. No he aimed more for someone who was in the kitchen. Jongdae was up in a matter of milliseconds. “aehm...” was all he said because he knew who else heard this. But it wasn't his task to do the laundry today. No he had to take care of the trash and he already did that, because he started every day off with doing his assigned task. Luhan on the other hand, was another story. “Aren't you going to do it?” asked the from Jongdae feared voice. Yixing stood in the middle of the Kitchen-shared living room. He really didn't like it when someone didn't do his task. If he wouldn't do it, everyone would be whining, because there would be nothing to eat. So the others should also be responsible. Jongdae seemed to have lost his voice and before an argumentation started, he rather only nodded and walked out of the room into the bathroom, to do said laundry.

During dinner, after Jongdae had done the laundry, everyone was sitting on the table chatting and eating. Luhan turned towards the refrigerator, pretending to be checking what he has to do tomorrow. Luhan wasn't a bad person and everything he did, he did for a reason. Including Jongdae ordering to do the laundry, when it was actually his task. Of course he could have cleared it up before the other had actually done it, it would have had the same effect, but if he did something for Jongdae he wanted some kind of reward. So when he was pretending to look at the plan and turned back towards the others, he started with an in guilt and sorrow drowned voice.
“Jongdae, why didn't you tell me that it wasn't your turn to do the laundry and mine instead. I must have read the wrong line, god I'm so sorry.” Jongdaes head shoot up, his facial expression resembling a deer caught in headlights. Yixing send an irritated look to him, one mixed with some guilt, because he felt also at fault. “Oh I'm sorry. I didn-” Yixing started but was interrupted by Yifan lightly smacking Luhans head. “Yah! Are dumb, letting others do your work, I can't believe it Luhan.” The scolded one immediately rubbed his head to ease the pain. “I said I'm sorry, I didn't do it on purpose. Jongdae will you forgive me? But why didn't you tell me that it wasn't your task?”
That was to much for Jongdae, Yixing was intensely staring at him expecting a reasonable answer, just like everyone else in the room. But he didn't know what he should tell them, oh if it weren't for Yixing witnessing everything he wouldn't have had such a problem. It was only his piercing stare that made him submit like that. “It's just...” He started but the words already left him before they even really appeared. Luckily for him Luhan interfered “Oh. Was it because of Yixing?” But with that said he wasn't helping at all. Yixing looked kind of hurt from Luhan to Jongdae, who still didn't know what to say.
Instead of saying something and facing his stupidity, Jongdae rather escaped everything and stood up, excusing himself before heading to his room. “So than it was because of Yixing..., maybe you shouldn't be always so hard on him. You seem to kind of scare him.” Said Luhan adding salt into the wound. Yixing was more than confused, was he ever too harsh on Jongdae? He didn't think so, but Jongdaes actions a second ago said otherwise. Actually Yixing could say that him and Jongdae didn't talk to each other often and if they did it was only casual. It might have been about the weather or an upcoming schedule they had. But maybe that was exactly it, with most of the others he was closer, well except for Tao but maybe Jongdae was just a bit more sensitive, he at least seemed to be the sensitive type.
While Yixing was still thinking about what to do to make Jongdae feel more welcomed in his presence, said one was lying on his bed. Face pressed into his pillow. He didn't know what just happened. What was wrong with him? Why was Yixing turning him into such a mess. There were so many questions and only one thing was clear for Jongdae. He needed to stay away from Yixing only for a short time, just to clear his head.

“What was that all about, today during lunch?” Yifan asked Luhan later on, when both of them were alone in the living room. “Oh, I was just helping Jongdae out a bit.” Said Luhan without looking away from the television. “So he knew this was coming, because it seemed to be a bit too much for him. He hasn't come out since. I'm a bit worried about him, you know.” Yifan looked towards the corridor as if he could make out any living sing from Jongdae. But it was quiet except for Minseoks and Taos rambling about something unimportant. “If you're so worried, why don't you go check up on him?” Yifan looked at Luhan with disbelieve, was he serious or was something messing with this boys head. “Yeah, you wish. That is your task for today since you didn't do the laundry.” Without saying anything more he turned the television off and grabbed Luhan, guiding him towards Jongdaes and Minseoks shared room.
Jongdae looked up as the door was abruptly opened and an displeased Luhan was shoved inside, by someone else. “Jongdae I'm sorry for what I did earlier it's just,... “ Luhan heaved a sigh, how was he going to explain this? “Look you always talk so much about Yixing, just yesterday you told me how he helped the staff with the decoration or how he held open the door for you or how he earlier this week asked you to give him a water bottle and you're always so enthusiastic when it comes towards Yixing.” He stopped to find a way to reach Jongdae and make him realize what Yixing was for him. Luhan sat next to Jongdae on his bed. “I always love to hear you talking about Yixing, your just so happy you light up a whole different way, it's just so adorable.” Luhan laughed lightly and Jongdae still looked confused, he wasn't getting was Luhan was trying to tell him. “Jongdae, be honest what do you feel when you think of Yixing?”
So Jongdae thought about Yixing, he thought about his accomplishments, his kindness and caring personality and it warmed his heart, it made him proud to have such a Gege. He admired everything he witnessed the other doing or things he heard, he did and that must have been what Luhan meant. Finally he knew what all this was about. “Yixing... he, he is my role model, I admire him.” Jongdae announced proudly, he had solved the puzzle. This explained why he paid so much attention to the other, he wanted to be like him. But Luhan seemed to think differently, he shock his head in disbelief. How could one be so naive, didn't he notice what those feelings were or was he denying them on purpose?
“Just think a bit more about it, okay? And tell me when something changed.” Said Luhan and smiled before he left for the kitchen. He was going to give Yifan a bit of his mind. That stupid leader had shoved him inside and now he made matters only worse. Jongdae might be really just to sweet and naive to now what he was feeling towards his Gege or maybe the feeling wasn't strong enough yet, maybe he needed just a bit more time, at least Jongdae wasn't dumb, so Luhan had still some hope.
__________________________
Jongdae still thought it might be good to get some distance between him and Yixing, people or his band member himself might think he was crushing on him, which definitely wasn't the case. While Jongdae tried his best to avoid his band member, by leaving the room when ever said one entered or avoiding standing next to him during Photoshoots or interviews or just in general. Yixing was trying his best to do the exact opposite. He tried to be a better Gege, to pay more attention to him. He tried talking to him, but the other would just stutter and leave hastily before he could hold him back and Yixing didn't want to pressure him. He tried to make him feel more welcomed by giving Jongdae a water bottle when they finished training or offer him some snacks, when all of them where watching a movie. He even tried sitting next to him but Jongdae seemed to be scared by even the thought of that, so much that he stood up and went the kitchen to get some unnecessary stuff, like something to drink, when the others already took care of that and everyone send him a confused look, before Jongdae said the furthest away from Yixing.
It hurt Yixing, it hurt him a lot. Because it seemed as if Luhan had been right all along. Jongdae was scared of him. But he hadn't noticed it before, Jongdae must have behaved like that all along but Yixing was just not paying enough attention towards him before. But since he gave all his attention now rather to Jongdae, than to anyone else. He suddenly noticed it, but not only that he also noticed how sweet his laugh was, how it was so melodic and full of happiness that he never seemed to force it. If during interviews or just while talking with someone and how it also made him smile, or how it saddened him from time to time that he seemed to kill that smile and couldn't even think of being the source of it. Because often when he gathered all his courage and walked to Jongdae while he was talking with Luhan for example and laughing happily, said laugh died within a matter of seconds. Jongdae became quiet before he left the room just like that. Leaving a sad Yixing and an apologetic looking Luhan all to themselves. Yixing also noticed how caring Jongdae was, he often brought stuff for others or asked everyone if they needed anything. By now Yixing had learned that pushing himself towards Jongdae wasn't working and instead he started to just observe the other maybe this would get him somewhere.

But it didn't, instead it made matters only worse. Jongdae continued avoiding him and by now Yixing was almost longing for his attention. It would warm his heart when Jongdae only glanced towards him, or when they were forced to stand together and would eventually brush shoulders. But it also made his heart ache that Jongdae wouldn't look at him and avoid his glance by all matters. Yixing didn't know when or why it happened but suddenly he found himself paying attention to Jongdae 24/7.
