Richmond smelled like burning chlorine when we laid our tires across I-64 tarmac.

Feel the burn! )

"Jason is with me, and we’re sitting at the pool at 11pm, in 72 degree weather with next to no humidity, ordering Chinese food with our feet in the water."

I believe that was possibly the most peaceful I've ever felt in a long time... And I concur sir, paragon of human existence. An apex of ataraxis.

Heh... yeah, we need to make that con better. And I'm glad when I woke up at 8:40 saturday morning I decided against going to the writing panel via using TJs badge... Sounds like I might've cried...

And that would be jawesome if Ant could DJ... I'll probably be doing staff every year from now on so maybe I could talk to someone, although, he could probably contact the person who runs the con and figure out how one would be recruited as a DJ.

The paragraph at the very end has the e-mail address you can petition to for increased length in the seminars and basically suggest to people who you want doing what. I'll see about putting together a plan with Anthony this weekend and write up a sample form letter. It'll all be in my Part 2 post, later this week.

You might have cried in the writing panel...you might have laughed. Dave and I typed notes back and forth...because it helped us stay sane.

Yeah, I know...3,400 words...and that was AFTER I edited it down to just the essentials. And the sadder thing is that there's still stories to tell.

I should have done a Part 1/Part 2 thing, huh?

Note how she cleverly avoids mentionong that she's a speed-reader...

I put it up against my previous convention reviews. The size of this one is comparable to that first year's, and two years ago, I broke 4,500. So, I guess it's not THAT long, by comparison. Still, that's 7 pages in Word. Or close enough.

Also, there's this whole thing I didn't even start writing about, which is my rant on the Lowering of Standards at Conventions. That's going to be another good 900 words, bare minimum...if I write it. Otherwise, I save it for next year, hoping next year's con will be disappointing...which it may not be.
