My school provided for us enrichment courses at the Singapore Media Academy over three weekends and I just completed the first of which is regarding News Scriptwriting and Broadcast. As part of the course, we got a guided tour of the ChannelNewsAsia newsroom, studio and control room. We also watched Timothy Go do a reading 'live'. Very educational and interesting. I don't mind Timothy Go's job, seriously. Haha.
Left: The office studio from the other side of the camera. This is where the stock market reports are shot.
Right: The backdrop of the office studio.
Left: On the way to the main CNA office.
Right: The open studio is in the background and the desktop of the reporters, writers and editors.
Left: I should have asked someone to get a shot of me in that seat!
Right: The teleprompter and how it works. Those are cameras remotely controlled from the control room. There are no cameramen.
Left: Augustine explaining what a newsreader does and what all the controls are for.
Right: The CNA control room. Cool stuff!
Left: What should I have? A Jasmine Tye, Jasmine Tye or a Jasmine Tye?
Right: Other mindless graffiti by, judging from their spelling, 14 year olds who should be in school.
Dressed up to film Person-To-Camera snippets we scripted ourselves.
