'Be Strong, Casper!' Episode 8,648

Nov 25, 2008 21:22

Casper is now a Liquor Consultant certified by Diageo, the world's largest premium beverage business
He attended a training session (yet another)lasting 9am till just before 7pm!
It was held at a fast and furious pace
Stopping only for tea break, lunch and another coffee break

Quite a lovely place, that hotel's just a stone's throw away from the beach
The buffet lunch was rather okay too

Casper learnt a lot and was absolutely imbibed by information
He also got to taste lots of liquor
Including (Y.C would call this "the legendary/传说中的")
The Johnnie Walker Blue Label King George V (affectionately known as 'KGV' within Diageo)
Casper and many of his colleagues waited so long for a chance to taste it
And their patience (15 months) finally paid off!

Casper was amazed by the fantastic creamy/oily mouthfeel the whisky provided
Look at the viscosity of the old gold coloured liquid as it flows slowly down the sides of the glass

Casper and his colleagues also got to meet some people from Diageo and fellow liquor consultants from Bangkok!
They went through sales tactics and routine practices followed by lots and lots of tasting
Until Casper lost track of what he was drinking

Tasted (Competitors): Ballantines 21, Limited, 30, Chivas 18, Royal Salute, Hundred Casks,
Diageo's: Johnnie Walker Gold, Blue, KGV, Caol Ila 18, Lagavulin 16, Talisker 10, Oban 14, Dalwhinnie 15, Cragganmore 12, Clylenish 14

They sure earned that certificate!

After training ended, they waited for their new Thai friends to freshen up before heading out for dinner

They had a Singaporean style seafood dinner at a quaint seaside restaurant
Casper did not take any more pictures as he was absolutely knackered by the long training
Besides, he was busy eating too
