This past week has been crazy. But also really fun and really tiring. My exchange student from Wisconsin came down with all the other wisconsinites (I personally think Wisconsiners sounds better) this past wednesday. So I'll give a rundown of the days and what we did.
Thursday: We took a field trip day and went down to the museum district. First, we all went to the Holocaust museum and walked through it. I had never been before and I like learning about the Holocaust, so I found it interesting yet very saddening at the same time. After that, we split off into groups to go to whatever we wanted. The group I was in decided to go to the zoo! It was so good, except there were no sloths, penguins, OR walruses...which was a little sad, but I still loved it. Especially learning that the zoo bathrooms are apparently not nice and other various things. So then we went to the museum of natural science to eat at the mcdonalds they have in there because we couldnt find another place to eat. That was okay...but the ketchup tasted like plastic. That night was the party at Casey's house. There was kareoke and food (extremely good fajitas) and all in all, it was a fun night.
Friday: All of the wisconsiners came to school with us and went to all of our classes. I got to teach Jenny (my exchange student) how to make a picture in photography! She was really excited about it, and it came out really good. That night was the astros game! That was actually surprisingly really fun. Probably because I sat next to Kara and Casey and her norwegian and all of the "beautiFULLLL" comments and whatnot. Then there were these little kids in the row in front of us that put their popcorn boxes on their heads and then started beating their heads with their waterbottles or they hit eachother with the waterbottles. Lets just say that I was very impressed. haha, Oh how I loved that night.
Saturday: We first went to NASA...but just to take pictures. Then we drove down to galveston and ate lunch at Joe's crab shack since they dont have that up in Wisconsin. Then we went shopping on the strand and I got a henna tattoo...well sort of a fake henna, but its still supposed to last as long! Then after shopping we went to the beach and had fun there. I didnt really want to get in the water because it was cold and stuff. I just kinda wanted to lay down on the beach, so I did. Then that night we went to Teresa's house for hot dogs. While there I played this game called catchphrase which is probably my new favorite game. Then I ate and got in the hot tub for awhile, and then we went home.
Sunday: We took Jenny to the airport which was sad, and I was sad that all the other wisconsin kids were leaving too. I had so much fun with them all here! We're trying to plan something to go see them over the summer which would be alot of fun, so maybe that can happen hopefully.
Today was a good day at school for the most part. Well, photography was what made it a good day. I was in the darkroom practicing my towel popping moves since we have those competitions in the darkroom, and the lights went out! So we all went in the darkroom and just kind of ran into eachother and stuff, and then some of us decided to hold a saence and we tried to summon George Harrison. Haha, that was definitely a fun time since we all started freaking out at one point.
Anyways, I need to go try and write my english paper, so yes, I am going to go do that. Adios!
