Hoover Scores!
My percussion section at Thompson did an incredible job at the Hoover contest! Much better than I ever expected.
Our score was a 91. This tied with Homewood for second place. (First place went to Siegel, in Murphresboro, TN.)
The band total was a 282. Which was second place in class 4 A. Third was Homewood at 281.5.
I knew we had done a good job when we got done. They started calling out scores and the first percussion score was a 3! A 3! (Twelve percussion sections scored a 2 (or worse) before a 1 was called.)
Only one word...
