Double Tree Hotel, Ft. Lauderdale

Finally I get a chance to get on the internet and check all that I have missed out on. For some reason, the high speed internet connection is broken, so I have to use dial up, which is soooo slow. The week hasn’t been too bad here, tomorrow we don’t have to work because the people that are going back to Chicago for the weekend, have to go to the airport and I have to drive them! For the weekend, I am moving to a hotel on the ocean in Miami Beach! Should be cool, I hope. The weather better hold out, too. Not sure what I am going to do, but I kinda want to go to the Everglades, and do some Kayaking down there. It’s only about 50 Miles from where I am. I kinda wish I was going home for the weekend, but its just a really long flight, about 3.5 hours to come home for a couple of days. I’ll get back from Miami, next Friday. Then 5 weeks in the office!

During Friday, after I dropped a couple of my co-workers off at the airport, we moved to our hotel in South Beach. The Hotel itself was ok, the location was good. It was right on Ocean drive, the ocean was right across the street. The weather the whole weekend was kinda shitty, oh well. Saturday I decided to drive to the Everglades, about 50 miles south of Miami. It was pretty cool, walked a couple of trails and stuff. Probably drove another 40-50 miles just through the park. Saw a couple gators too. Its kinda weird they just sit there in the water and all you can see is there eyes. Who wants to go swimming? Hehe. After that I was going to drive to Key Largo, another 20 miles, but it was raining and what is the point of going to the beach when it is raining. So I killed some time at Denny’s, hoping the rain would stop. It didn’t, so I just ended up drive back to Miami. Now, I am in Fort Lauderdale, at a firm where I am writing this because I don’t have anything to do. Friday, I’ll be Chicago bound!

Today at work is going ok. The audit that we are doing this week, they didn’t know that we were coming. Lets just say that they were unhappy with us showing up like that.
