Sweet Caroline - Neil Diamond Pondering was a usual pass time for Pasha. The unusual thing was that more often then not she found herself pondering about the same topic. No longer did she ponder the mysteries of the universe or about how Pythagoras’ theorem could be updated and used for navigational equations. Instead her mind was filled with thoughts of…relationships. It was truly bizarre. The worst part was that Pasha didn’t even mind it that much, it was a pleasantly engaging thought without being too strenuous, or at least most of the time that was.
The issue that was running circles in her head today was the amount of nicknames Leonard had for her: Darlin’, sweet thing, little one. The last one had actually ceased to annoy her anymore which she found to be simply baffling. Pasha had always hated when people used anything less then her given name and even more so when people called out her height. It was unusual. But she didn’t mind at all when Leonard said it, it was a fact that he was bigger then her and she liked being the small delicate one for a change. She’d always been a tomboy from being young, a natural side effect of seven brothers and not an awful lot of friends, so acting like a proper girl for once was so unique.
This whole thing was, while she hesitated to label it so, easy. Nice and easy and gentle and gradual. Pasha was more then happy to just let it grow and grow, it wasn’t anything like the few immature and hurried relationships that ended up breaking off after a few months. It was probably because Leonard was so understanding of everything. She knew all to well that she wasn’t an easy person to deal with at the very best of times and she appreciated how simply he understood her.
Pasha realised that while she’d been wandering aimlessly through the halls and her legs had automatically brought her to the doctor’s door. That brought a small laugh from the young woman. Obviously she was enamoured. ‘It could be worse’ She silently mused, a small smile playing at her lips. ‘You could have been sleepwalking again.’.
“Pasha?” A hand waving in front of her face brought her back to Earth-- or the Enterprise --with a bump and she blinked, as if waking from a dream. “Leonard.” She greeted with a widening smile, a genuine one, an expression rarely seen on her face. “What yer doin’ out here, zonin’ out?” He asked, gently tugging on a curl affectionately. “Nothing important. Thinking.” She leant up and kissed him on the cheek. “Now what’s that fer, sweet thing?” He asked gruffy, trying not to blush., glancing about the hall to check for people. They didn’t often indulge in public affection but Pasha’s smile was too bright to deny her for long. “Because I can.” She smiled, slipping her hand into his.
