08 Year in Review

kate and i were finally able to move back to the highland village/galleria area. we've been so much happier for it.

we survived a hurricane.

after many failed attempts, i finally found a place to do a weekly event that i am happy with.

i enjoy what i do for a living, but i am not sure that i am the right fit for the people that i am doing it for. the face and direction of who i work for has changed so many times over the last four years that i feel that it may be in my best interest to find something new. there is really no reason to be bitter or unhappy in a career.

creating show posters became very frustrating for me. feels like i have spent too much time creating a product and not enough time finding a voice. i have been told that the style is there, but unfortunately it all feels and looks the same to me at this point.

on a plus side, my freelance work has been on an upswing. the end of the year brought three projects that reminded me how much i still like doing graphic design for other people.

purchased a macbook pro for kate and two technics 1200s for me.

my relationship with my family has improved. my dad has become a great friend over the last couple of years. he may get on my case from time to time, but we have both matured enough to know when to back down. as for my mother, i am happy that i was able to help her the way i had this past year. through the help of a savy accountant, i was able to offer her some financial stability. i hope our relationship continues to improve.
