Speaking of cereal boxes, I couldn't help but notice when I was in the grocery store's cereal aisle recently that enterprising kids who save cardboard tokens from their cereal boxes* can mail them in to claim a 1.0 GB USB Flash drive emblazoned with the Star Trek logo.
Wow!
And I thought it was cool when you could get a "diving Tony" toy in a box of Frosted Flakes. (Just being able to eat a cereal like that was a treat when we were growing up, since our parents -- probably wisely -- liked to keep our sugar intake under control.)
*Incidentally, it was "
Honey Smacks" cereal, which used to be called "Sugar Smacks" at a slightly more truthful and less health-conscious time. For a while they were just called "Smacks," but Kellogg's probably thought better of that when they realized that their mascot was a tweaked-out frog who carried a giant spoon.
