It's been a
year. A year and a few hours since everything changed and the world for everyone got turned upside down. They had plenty of things to go wrong before that, sure, but it wasn't the same as the sudden, extreme change that happened one year ago. As much as he might want to go back, Angel knows they'll never be able to have back what

I helped Tyler upstairs with one of the boxes and glanced up over to Faith when I heard her speak up. I opened my mouth to answer, but paused for a second when I heard a kind of irritable slayer yelling from downstairs. Huh. Tyler sort of stifled a laugh which he probably better get under control if he didn't want said slayer to hurt him even if she was handicapped at the moment. Slayers. They're feisty little things.
"There are a few more boxes downstairs I think," Tyler said about his stuff. "Did you and Dad get all of your stuff yet?"
All of us then looked back to he door and behind Faith when Harry came in with Lily and Sarah not far behind them.
"The bed works," I said and tried my best to look mostly serious. Lily had a look of frustration on her face and I knew that look all too well. She sent me a glare. "You really do need to rest up, Lily. You'll heal faster... and no one will have to carry you up and down the stairs that way." And I might have grinned a little there.
"Do you need any help with anything else downstairs?" I asked both Harry and Faith.

"All my stuff's downstairs." I said, simultaneously answering Tyler and Angel's questions at once. "The mover's just brought it in." I didn't really know what else to say. Telling Angel that I didn't know where to put it seemed awkward in front of Tyler and his girlfriend.
"And where's your room, Lily?" I asked her, mostly teasing her myself with an arched eyebrow as she indicated it was only a few doors down. "Just remember your father hears everything." I pointed out to Tyler and quickly ducked out of the room before I could be told how embarrassing I was. The truth was, teenage sex was hardly the least of my worries, or even on my radar anymore at all.
Walking into the lobby I spotted a couple of boxes that had Tyler's name written on them in black magic marker. Hauling them both up into my arms I started walking back up the stairs with them. I dropped them both to the floor with a thud as I looked back up at my son. "I always told you reading too much was dangerous. Do you know how heavy those books are?"

Looking over at Faith when she dropped the books I shook my head. "This is why I left most of my books in the library." At the penthouse in NY and here at the hotel. Angel had been pretty cool about me making a library here the last time we all lived here.
"Maybe we should knock out the wall of the room next to our room to give us more space?" I asked, Angel and then looked over at Faith for her input. "If not then I'm turning the next room into a closet for myself." I was not even pretending to be joking. The three of us had a lot of stuff now, and trying to squeeze it into one suite was going to be a pain in the ass.
As far as where we were staying? I just assumed it was the same as it had been before.
"Don't worry, we have no plans to make you grandparents," Lily said to Faith, and then smirked at the horrified look on my face. "Careful, Harry, I read in one of the watcher's diaries that vampires can get grey hair."
"No they can't."
"Yes, they can." She retorted. "Can't they, Angel?"

I paused at first about the idea of breaking through the wall of the room. What was wrong with it the way it was now? Well, it would be crowded, but.. alright it would be really crowded. I shrugged a little. "We can if you think it needs it. And.. the room across the hall is empty if you still need an extra closet." I think I'd forgotten how many clothes Harry actually had. I raised a brow, amused. "Faith, do you need a room for your clothes?"
"Oh, we don't?" Tyler asked with the most serious and not to mention innocent! expression on his face in answer to the grandchildren comment. Harry's face was a bit beyond horrified at that point. Tyler just grinned wide, gave a small shrug and sat down next to Lily on the bed. "Yeah, I'd probably like to get out of high school before that happens. Probably a good idea, yeah?"
I did my best not to smile too much, but then it immediately went away when Harry and Lily started arguing about vampires getting gray hair. Uh, hell no.
"No, they can't," I said just as seriously as Harry and I was pretty sure I just saw Tyler roll his eyes. Hey kid, you'll be jealous one day. "I think I probably would have gotten a few by now if we could."

"Hell no you don't." I added in to Tyler. "I'm too young and pretty to be a grandmother." I reminded him and Lily both. Teen sex was one thing. Teen pregnancy? Totally not allowed. Especially if it was my teen in question. I wasn't kidding when I said I was too young to be a grandmother. I'm only twenty five.
"Well, vampires might not get grey hair but slayers do so I'm gonna start movin' my stuff now that I've moved the books." I smiled at everyone before I slinked out of the room and bounded down the stairs until I was standing in front of the boxes that had my name written on them in magic marker. Immediately I went for the weapons, dragging them over to the cabinet where Angel kept his. At least I knew where to put these.
Oh except for that knife. That stays with me. Quickly I picked it up and tucked it into the waistband of my jeans.
