We conducted a brief lab demonstration on thursday. The set-up included two large (nearly) empty water cooler bottles, a diet coke can, a splint (a piece of long flammable wood used to gain distance between the target of fire and the fire-applying hand), a match (or seven), a candle, a paper towel, and samples of water(left in the nearly empty water cooler bottle), ethanol, diet coke, and methanol.

We could not ignite water vapour.
