1 2 3 4 5 6 Jensen and Jared’s little foray into amateur porn had not only been loud enough to scare and probably scar Jake and Peter for life but the girls had also gotten an ear full in their bedrooms across the hall.
The result of that episode was that Jake had been really mad at his dads and told them that he wanted to move out and find a place just for him and Pete. After that he had not spoken to either of his parents for three whole days but the decision to leave home and get an own apartment had also died along with his anger, because he had understood that caring for his baby would be much easier if he had his whole family around to help him out when he needed it.
Jensen walked out of the bedroom, looking still a bit deranged from their new morning sex routine. He was in desperate need of food. Sex with Jared was always awesome and he couldn't get enough of it but it also left him really hungry now that he was officially eating for three and getting closer to the third trimester of his pregnancy. He was trying to decide if shower sex was still possible, with the sizeable belly he was carrying around, and was so lost in thought that he almost walked into his daughters who were running towards the stairs to get some breakfast.
"Ewww... You smell like sex!" Janie scrunched up her face.
"And how in the hell do you know what sex smells like?" Jared frowned, coming out of the master bedroom. He wrapped his arms around Jensen and rested them on his bump.
Janie opened her mouth to say something but didn't find a good comeback and shut it again, even blushing a bit.
"Speaking of sex..." Julie piped up instead.
"We aren't talking about sex." Jared said firmly. "All you need to know is that you aren't ever having it."
Julie crossed her arms in front of her chest defiantly. "Did you have the same talk with Jake? Because his baby bump kinda says that speech didn't work all that well on him."
“Well, he provides a great example of why not to have sex." Jared answered, running his hands over Jensen's belly. "This is what happens."
Gently stepping out of Jared's loving embrace, Jensen gave both girls a stern look. "Okay, I really need some food but now I wanna to know what you want." Feeling his husband tense at his side, he laid a hand on his arm to calm him down. "As much as you want them to be our innocent little girls forever, Jay, I still think we should have this talk properly."
"Can't we just lock them in the basement?" Jared whined, reaching out for Jensen again.
The older man shook his head, patting his lover's arm. Then he looked back at their youngest daughter. "So what do you want? I'm close to starving, so don't think about stalling because I won't be in a kind mood if I don't get food really soon." He warned them up front.
"If you want chastity belts, I'm all for it." Jared piped up once more.
Jensen smirked at that comment. "Kinky, babe, but I think we should try to be a bit more realistic." He winked at his husband and crossed his arms over his huge belly, waiting for the girls to spill.
"We wanna go see a doctor and get birth control." Janie finally answered, throwing her younger dad a concerned look.
"Hell no!" Jared answered immediately. "You are not having sex!"
Shouting wasn't one of Jared's greatest ideas because his daughter was a lot like him and didn't react well to being shouted at. "How do you know I'm not having sex ALREADY?" Janie shot back heatedly.
"Because there would be a lot less boys in the world!" Jared shouted. "You are way too young!"
Seeing his sixteen-year-old daughter open her mouth to start arguing, Jensen held up both hands and stepped between Jared and their girls. "Okay. Stop it!" He fixed his eyes on Janie first. "I don't want to hear anyone shouting. We're going into the kitchen..." He glanced up at Jared's flushed face. "...and we're gonna talk about this like ADULTS if we all feel so grown up." With that said he just turned around and walked down the stairs and into their kitchen, knowing that the others would follow him eventually.
Jared followed Jensen into the kitchen. "I just don't think they are old enough for this!"
"But don't you think that it's better if we are prepared... You know if someday the right guy comes along and... you know..." Julie spoke up again, sitting down next to Jensen on the kitchen table. She tended to be very emotional as well but apparently had seen that shouting wouldn't get them anywhere on that special subject.
Jared shook his head. "You are 16 and 15. You shouldn't even be thinking about sex."
"Maybe that was the case when you were 16 but we're in 2038 now." Janie pointed out, clearly fighting to keep her annoyance at bay. She sat down next to her sister and shot her older father a hopeful glance. "You're on our side, aren't you dad?"
Jensen groaned and rubbed a hand over his face. "Okay, I really don't like the idea of either of you having sex already, but the idea of you having sex with some boy and maybe not using proper protection is even worse..." He sighed because he was already waiting for Jared to blow up again.
"They aren't having sex!" Jared roared, slamming his fist against the table. "They are my daughters and they are way too young!"
"Calm down, Jay." Jensen stood up from his place, wincing at the small pain in his back, and walked over to his pacing husband. "We won't be able to stop them and you know that." His voice was calm and soothing. "What's so bad about taking them to see Dr. Eriksen? Just to talk to him and get informed..."
“With all that has happened with Jake, you still want to do this?" Jared asked with disbelief. "I don't want another teenage pregnancy in this house."
That was it for Jensen. Probably his hormones and the fact that he really needed coffee, but couldn’t have any, were to blame but he just snapped. "Jake made the right decision to keep the baby! How can you use him as a bad example? He may be young but he has been really responsible about the whole pregnancy deal! He wanted to have his own doctor and he goes to all his appointments with Peter. I'm not trying to advertise teen pregnancies here, Jay, but I think the girls should really go and see Eriksen. Forbidding them to have sex will only make them keep secrets from you but if you're too stubborn to see that, I just can't help it." He went past his husband, grabbing the bag with Halloween candy from the kitchen counter and stormed off into their bedroom.
Jared folded his arms on the table and slammed his head down on them.
The girls exchanged a silent glance, still a bit shaken by their dad's outburst and slowly got up from their chairs, going back to their rooms.
*
After a long time of calming down Jared got up from the table and walked to the bedroom. He knocked on the door. "Jen?"
Jensen was sitting on their bed in the middle of a sea of candy wrappers. He had been really hungry before the whole fight had started and the added frustration had made his craving for candy even worse, so he had been stuffing himself with all kinds of left-over sweets from Halloween. The food had helped him cool down and he even felt a bit bad for shouting at Jared but still refused to admit to that. "It's open." He finally answered.
Jared walked in. "I'm sorry for upsetting you." He sighed as he sat down next to his husband. "I know Jake is doing really well with this whole thing."
"Yeah..." Jensen replied reluctantly. "I'm also sorry… for shouting at you... I don't know, must be the hormones or something." He looked up with big, green eyes. "I guess I even scared the girls."
"It's okay." Jared assured, wrapping his arms around his lover. "I guess we were both at fault."
Nodding silently, Jensen tried to stand up from the bed because he really needed to go to the toilet but he felt a weird pain in his lower body at the movement. "Ouch!" He hissed and rubbed at his swollen belly.
"Jen!" Jared helped him sit back down. "Are you okay?"
The pregnant man concentrated on the stabbing ache in his stomach before answering. "I don't know..." He massaged the underside of his belly and took a deep breath but the cramps were still there.
Jared looked at him with worried eyes. "You don't think..."
"I don't know... The kids have been really quiet and I thought they were sleeping but now... My back's been hurting a bit lately and now there are these cramps..." Jensen's eyes turned wide with worry.
"Oh shit…" Jared whispered. "We need to take you to the hospital!"
Jensen grabbed his husband's biceps and stared at him in quickly growing panic. "I'm only seven months... It's way too early for the babies to come!" He muttered terrified.
"I know." Jared answered. "Fuck, we shouldn't have had sex."
Too scared to start arguing about sex, Jensen awkwardly pulled himself up from the bed and flinched another time as the pain in his bloated belly seemed to become worse. "I... I think we should really go to the clinic, Jay..." He felt a bit light-headed already and had to steady himself against Jared's broad frame.
Jared suddenly lifted him into his arms and carried Jensen to the car. "Everything will be okay." He did his best to soothe his husband.
"I... I'm sorry... I..." Jensen suddenly started to sob into his husband's shirt. "It's my fault... You always said I should..."
"Babe, it's okay." Jared whispered back. "It's not your fault. Everything will be okay."
The soft spoken words didn't really help much. The pregnant man was sobbing so hard that he was close to hyperventilating. "It's too early!" He kept repeating over and over as big tears rolled down his pale face.
"Calm down for the babies." Jared said softly, holding onto Jensen.
Janie had heard the commotion and went downstairs to see what was happening. Upon finding the front door wide open she became worried and went outside, where she found Jared holding Jensen in his arms and trying to fit him into the backseat of their SUV. She immediately hurried over to her dads and got even more worried when she saw one crying and the other close to tears. "What happened?" She asked with wide eyes.
"Dad's having contractions." Jared explained shortly, kissing Jensen's forehead.
The sixteen-year-old lifted a hand to her mouth in shock. "But he's only seven months..."
Jensen was crying openly and clutching at his huge, swollen belly with one hand while the other was twisted into the material of Jared's shirt.
"Jen, you need to let me go so I can drive." Jared said, obviously upset.
"No!" The pregnant man screamed, pulling at his husband's arm. "Don't leave me alone."
"Babe, I have to drive you to the hospital." The younger man tried to reason, blinking back his own tears of distress.
Janie took one step forward and held out her hand for the car keys. "I can drive you to the hospital." She suggested, seeing that her younger dad probably was in no shape to drive. She could see him shaking from where she was standing and he looked as if he would burst out in tears any minute.
Jared kept shaking and holding onto Jensen.
"Argh!" The pregnant actor cried out loud and grabbed his belly with both hands. He was almost hyperventilating and seeing dark spots in front of his eyes already. "Hospital!"
*
The rather short drive to the hospital went unexpectedly well. Janie had just gotten her license about half a year ago but she had stayed surprisingly calm with both her dads crying, and one of them making all kinds of other distressed noises, on the backseat of the SUV. When they had reached the hospital Jared had almost jumped out of the car before it came to a stop and pulled his suffering husband into his arms to carry him inside. They had looked so panicked that they had immediately been shown to an examination room.
Shortly after that a dark haired man in his forties walked into the room and briefly introduced himself as Dr. Walker. Seeing how distressed Jensen was, he quickly stepped over to them and started to ask the usual questions. “Can you please tell me how the pain feels,…?” He reached for the clipboard to check on his patient’s name.
"He's only seven months." Jared babbled. "It's too soon. Oh God, it's too soon. The babies aren't ready yet!"
"Please, try to stay calm, sir. We have to check what exactly is happening before jumping to conclusions." The doctor explained in a matter-of-fact voice. "Even if he is having early contractions there are a few things we can do to ensure your children's health. So, Jensen, can you tell me if the pain is constant or recurring?"
Jensen was still sobbing in misery and stared at the doctor with wide eyes as if he hadn't understood his question.
“Tell the doctor." Jared rubbed Jensen's hand. "Baby, you gotta tell him."
Focusing on his husband, Jensen blinked a few times, his breathing still uneven but managed to shake his head. "Just hurts..." He whimpered and rubbed at his distended belly.
Apparently his patient was not able to help him with his diagnose, so Dr. Walker carefully lifted Jensen's shirt to expose his belly properly and gently started to palpate the swollen flesh. "I'm trying to assess the reason for the pain." He explained and watched his patient's face for any signs of added discomfort caused by his examination. "Has there been any bleeding or did his water break to make you think he went into labor?" He asked Jared without looking up.
"No." Jared answered. "He just started having these horrible pains."
"Okay. Has he done anything to strain himself maybe?" Dr. Walker continued asking, reaching for the cart with the ultrasound machine.
"We got in a fight..." Jared admitted, sheepishly.
The doctor nodded and massaged the sides of Jensen's huge belly. "Did he maybe eat something unusual? His abdomen feels normal, so this might be a stomach ache." He pressed down on the upper part of the rounded belly. "Does this hurt, Jensen?" He asked but still didn't get any answer from the distressed man, so he gently moved his hands lower and pushed against the lower half of his abdomen.
Before the physician could ask any further questions, Jensen cried out in pain and almost bolted upright, crushing Jared's hand he had been holding.
"Alright, I think this might be just a false alarm but let's check with the ultrasound." Dr. Walker poured some gel onto Jensen stretched skin, clicked a few buttons on the machine and started moving the wand over his patient’s massive belly. "The heartbeats sound good and steady..."
"Everything is gonna be okay, Jen." Jared smiled, holding Jensen's hand tightly.
The pregnant man turned his head towards the small display but still looked scared.
"Yes, this looks good. Both your babies are okay and there are no signs of labor." The doctor confirmed, removing the wand and wiping the excessive gel off Jensen's stomach. He went back to massage the lower curve of the bloated belly and saw his patient grimace. "I think this might be a bad case of constipation. I can give you a mild laxative to help with that and you should be feeling better in a few hours." He gave both men an encouraging smile.
"You hear that, babe?" Jared smiled. "Our babies are okay!"
Wiping at his damp eyes, Jensen nodded and sighed. "Thank you." He muttered to no one in specific and closed his eyes in silent prayer.
Jared wrapped his arms around him. "I'm so glad you are okay, babe!" He whispered.
Dr. Walker held out a piece of paper to Jared. "This is the prescription. One pill should do the trick but if it doesn't you can take a second one after two hours." He explained carefully. "Constipation is quite common during pregnancy, so if you notice problems with your bowel movement you can take one of the pills. If there is any bleeding or if you feel recurring stabbing pains, you might be in labor. Maybe your doctor can recommend you some books. I wish you and your family all the best." Nodding one last time he left to room to check on another patient.
“Oh my good, this is so embarrassing.” Jensen groaned, rubbing his still aching belly. “I think he thought we were going to be parents for the first time. His cheeks flushed beet red.
Bending down, Jared pressed a soft kiss to his husband’s forehead. “It’s okay, babe. I’m just happy that you and the kids are alright.” He smiled in relief. “I think we should go and search for Janie, she might still be worrying.” He remembered how he had jumped out of the car and left their daughter to find a parking spot.
“Yeah, we should go home. I’m tired.” Jensen agreed, pulling down his shirt and slowly standing up from the examination table. “And I think I need a good belly rub.” He added with a small smile.
