Toodles, poodles - the good-bye post.

Hello, anyone-who-still-occasionally-checks-this!

I'm not going to be flowery and poetic.
Obviously, I haven't posted in a while. Main reason: No time! When I did have time, there was other stuff I wanted to focus on. Other reason: I found other passions. The biggest passion? Teaching. I'm entering my third semester as a student teacher, last semester being my first semester of actual teaching. It was an absolute BLAST.

That said, over the last few months, the dolls have been sitting up in my closet, neglected and ignored. I feel a little bad about that. I've thought it over, and while I definitely have a fondness for them still, I have no actual desire to interact with the dolls anymore. Dressing them, displaying them, none of it.

I look at it this way: The dolls filled a need for a period of time. Maybe it was a desire to get back in touch with my childhood. Maybe it was something that allowed me to escape. Hell, I still like to look at the pictures of the dolls, I just have no desire to actually own them anymore. I don't have the same passion for the dolls anymore. So, I will always have a fondness for them, but I don't have a need for them anymore.

It was really fun being part of the Pullip community, but I do notice a "changing of the guard" in Pullip groups. The pullips coming out now aren't appealing to me at all, and most of the people whose photos I enjoyed the most aren't really active anymore, either. Plus, my life is shifting into more adult territories now, and I think I've found the balance I need between delightfully innocent and mature adult, and I'm ready to be an adult. I'm married now (2 whole weeks, whoo!), I'm teaching children now (well, teenagers technically, but they're still children, hahaha), and there are so many other things that I want to devote my time and energy to now.

I'll always be fond of Pullips and the hole they filled for me while I needed it. It was fun to play with them, and if anything, I'll miss the characters I created for them. I kind of wish I was a talented enough artist to keep writing. But, C'est La Vie.

If anyone is curious, here's a summary of the storylines I had planned for the pullips. No official ending was ever planned, but here's what I had planned out thus far:

- Monique and Gigi were both going to be pregnant very soon (I even got a Froggie for xmas to be Gigi and London's child!), with Monique actually asking Drew to donate "the old-fashioned way", as a way of getting her ya-ya's out in regards to her attraction to Drew. Sleeping with Drew also was a bit of a stab at Paris, hahaha. The sexual encounter would have been a comedy of errors a la "Will and Grace", and the sperm donation would later happen via more formal procedures, hahaha. Naturally, the eventual plan was for Monique and Gigi to be pregnant together, and for their daughters to grow up to be BFF.

- Speaking of Drew, Drew and Paris were going to eventually move in together (man, I wish I had the desire to write about Paris Hilton in jail, hahaha), but I had no real plans for them to marry, nor break up! Of course, ChiChi will still totally hate Paris, but she will eventually tolerate the relationship because she sees that Paris truly loves her brother Drew.

- Portia and Audrey. Ah, my poor lesbian drama queens. I really had no definite plans for them, but I didn't really see them together super-long. Eventually, it would come down to having a strong mutual attraction, but not a whole lot in common. =) After that, I wasn't sure. I didn't want Portia with ChiChi, obviously, so I guess I would have probably bought another doll or two to give them proper girlfriends... obviously, I never got that far.

- ChiChi! ChiChi was going to get a BFF that may or may not have turned romantic, using the Paja I bought and customized. Her name was to be Charlotte Avolte, and based on a girl I used to know who was sweet and sarcastic, but also a bit on the superficial, arty-farty side. Charlotte was going to be the girl to help ChiChi get over the heartbreak of her rejection from Portia, and that's as far as I got. =)

Anyway, so that's how the story kept going, to a point. This journal will be used for a bit longer to offer up the dolls for sale for a few weeks, and I'm still debating if I'm going to offer the dolls on LJ, THEN on eBay, or just eBay all around. Until I make that decision, I'm willing to hear some offers for any dolls. Feel free to comment or email (me.amo.aprender@gmail.com) if interested, but don't feel pressured - I won't start actively trying to sell them off for at least another week, I still have a bunch of wedding stuff to finish sorting through. Here's a link to the cast page, if you forgot what dolls I have. *Paris Hilton doll ON HOLD 7/8/07*

Thanks for all the comments and encouragement over this period! I'll still peruse the community, but I'm pretty much done with Pullips. =)
