Thinking hard at the phone doesn't make it ring any faster. Especially about certain plans that might be in effect. In case anyone was wondering. Parker couldn't seem to stop herself, though.

Broots knocked on the door.

Parker opened it, then blinked in surprise. "Broots. Hi." She actually smiled. "Come in."

Broots blinked at the smile. "Hi. I was bored."

Parker stared at him, the smile not quite going away. "Okayyyy. So, you stopped by to play my XBox? To upgrade the software on my computer?" She held the door open. "To hear me rant about whatever's on my mind?"

Broots blinked as he came in. "All of the above? I was wondering if you need help with anything and that firewall that you need and you have an xBox?"

Parker snickered, just a little. "Firewall first. XBox second. Yes, I have one. It was, uh. 'Liberated' from the Teacher's Lounge last year. I don't play her enough." The first thing he said caught up with her, and she blinked, slightly stunned. "Um. Thanks? Although, actually... things are a lot better now."

"That's, good, right?" Broots sat down in a chair. "Laptop?"

"Very good," Parker said softly, then retrieved her laptop and handed it over. "Thank you." She sat down on a nearby chair, and pulled up her legs, and wrapped her arms around them. "I might actually get a full night's sleep tonight." She smiled crookedly. "You? Things going... okay?"

Broots gave a half-hearted shrug. "Well enough, I guess." He started typing away. "Do I want to know what happened?"

Parker thought about that for a long, long couple minutes, then finally said, "The project that had me asking you for random, possibly illegal favors, was just completed." She was quiet a minute, trying to find words. There was too much Broots couldn't know, but he needed to know something. "And a source of many, many nightmares for me is now... dealt with. And no one had to get hurt." Brigitte would live. Close enough. "'Well enough'? No active problems, I hope."

"So no more illegal favors?" Broots asked innocently. "And just bored." He hit a few buttons and waited for the computer to re-boot. "That's good. The part with no more nightmares."

[mparkerceo]

"Nope. None." She shook her head, amused at Broots for once, instead of borderline irritable, just because things were going so well. "It is good. More sleep means less cranky. I could live with the rest of the semester being... better." She didn't say, "good" or "perfect". Xander would point at her, from somewhere on the Island.

"You're leaving this year, right?" Broots handed the laptop back to her. "Password?" He could have simply hacked in, but he decided to be polite.

"Yes. May fifth I graduate. May twelfth, I leave for Moscow." Parker quickly keyed in her password, and made a mental note to change it later. "Is that it?"

[dorky_broots]

Broots took the laptop. "Nah, just getting started and needed to reboot. How long are you in Moscow?"

Parker curled up again. "Probably not the whole summer. At least a month. I'll probably be back in Blue Cove by the 4th of July." She shook her head. "Are you staying here over the summer?"
