Room 234/236 : Thursday evening

Oct 27, 2006 02:01

Parker had given up on her project, and was trying to fight off a headache by lying on her bed with good music on. Her music of Don't-Give-A-Damn Remix, actually.

Esme was stalking M. In a minute, they'd switch, and probably they'd pounce on her after that.

As long as there were no bunnies screaming she was okay.

Jack knocked on the door, still feeling itchy from the revelation that he'd had people swimming in his blood.

Parker got up again, and opened the door, then gave a small grin. "Hey." She left the door open, then meandered back over ot her bed, collapsing on it. "I've seen your stomach from the inside. It's *weird*."

Jack rolled his shoulders and scratched his chest as he followed her in and collapsed next to her. "Yeah, my body's an educational institution." He smirked. "It just usually takes a much different form."

Snickering, Parker rolled over onto her stomach, and perched her chin on her hands. "It was really pretty cool, except for Jamie relentlessly singing '100 Bottles of Beer On the Wall.' You didn't have an urge to sing while we were exploring your insides, did you?"

"No, just an almost uncontrolable urge to wiggle around." He shifted onto his side so he could see her. "Did you join in the singing?"

"No, I just resisted the urge to give you an aneuryism by pushing Jamie into a blood vessel." Parker rolled her eyes. "It was damn interesting, I admit, but also gross on multiple levels. How much extra credit are you getting out of this?"

Jack laughed and said, "I appreciate your restraint." He rolled onto his back and folded his hands behind his head. "I didn't ask, none I think. Which is a shame - after today I could use it."

"What happened today?" Parker reached down to tickle Esme, who was looking up at her from the floor. "And you could always ask, still, I think."

"I got detention." Jack oofed as M jumped onto his stomach and started kneading her paws, claws pricking his skin. "Just make yourself comfortable," he told her. "I seem to be everybody's playground today."

"For what? They haven't held the lottery yet," Parker said, frowning. She rolled her eyes at M. "Everyone is merely a potential jungle gym to her. Don't take it any kind of personally."

Jack scratched her ears and she settled down, watching him through half slitted eyes as she started to purr. "I refused to do the Ethics assignment," he said, smiling at M.

"Did you now." Parker's voice hopefully didn't give away her unease. "On principle, or because you're insane, like Jamie? Or both?" She stroked one fingernail down Esme's nose, and watched the rabbit twitch her whiskers at her.

"Both, I think. It was kind of a snap decision."

"And he didn't snap you?" Parker asked. "That's encouraging. If less violent than I'd expect from the guy I met."

He tipped his head to meet her eyes, scritching his fingers into M's fur. "It wasn't a lot of fun, and it got a bit worrying at one point, but I got off easier than I expected considering I 'defied him'." Jack's tone made the sarcastic quotes around those last two words very clear.

"As long as you're allowed the option to defy him and live, although Detention for not doing your homework is completely unfair. Bastard." Parker's tone deepened with dislike. "That guy creeps me out. Forget the costume, any teacher who breaks a coffee cup at the sight of a student and just stands there, saying nothing..." She shook her head. "And why *did* you defy him, if not just for the hell of it?"
