"No, no, no. Zero's next installment of her new show won't be until she's ready. I don't know where you're getting this idea that she's going to let demand dictate her art. She'll make what she wants, when she wants." Parker laughed at the agent on the other end of the phone, and checked out her lipstick in a shop window. "Now, if we're talking about Peepcapolypse Now, we're willing to entertain discussions. Yes, discussions. We've hit 250,000 viewings and over a thousand comments, and over forty websites. It's a hot property." Parker paused near a diamond store, and smiled. "Next week? I think we can do that. Lovely talking to you. Good-bye."
Parker snapped her phone shut, and smirked in victory. Yes! If this kept up, by September, Zero's first movie would have hot indie status and viewings, and maybe an invitation to Sundance. Woo!
In the middle of Parker's sidewalk celebrating, someone on the other side of the street caught her eye. Because he was
staring at her. Parker stopped in her tracks, meeting his eyes across traffic. "Kyle?"
A truck rattled by at full speed, and when it passed, he was gone, leaving Parker shivering in the hot L.A. sunlight.
