Dolphin Hall, Oxford, England; Room of Portal-Lag

Having spent half the weekend in the U.S. Central Time Zone, then come home in the middle of the Greenwich Mean Time night, Parker's body was a little confused about where it was. Or when it was. Or whether they should be asleep or awake, and weren't finals starting in a week?

Three cups of coffee didn't help. Maybe phoning a friend would.

Well, in THE FUTURE, it's... actually still February. The 29th, to be exact. Hooray for leap years?

"Hey, dude!" Bridge answers cheerfully.

"Dude. Hey." Parker couldn't help but smile, despite her consciousness confusion. "How goes the future police work? Any new, giant pizzas?"

"Nothing so exciting," Bridge says with a sigh. "This last week has pretty much been patrol, patrol, patrol. Which, I mean, no crime is good, but it's also not good, because it's not like Gruumm's gone and he's not the type to just give up, so he's obviously planning something but we don't know what yet, and in the meantime, there's lots and lots of patrolling which means listening to Sky complain about how he didn't get a new patrol bike. And! Z had pie yesterday and totally didn't share." Of course, it was synthesised pie, so Bridge totally could've gone and got some of his own, but that was beside the point.

"Ah! She doesn't get new earrings from me until there is pie!" Parker said in mock-outrage. "Sounds like Sky hasn't changed. And if you see Grumm, shoot the other horn off, 'cause I'm still sorry we didn't get to do that last time."

"He's pretty good at staying up on his ship where we can't actually get him," Bridge grumbles. "Just sends a lot of minions down to do his dirty work. But if we do, I'll totally try, I promise. And I'm so telling Z that. And- what day is it there?"

"Uh." Parker had to check the calendar, and squeeze the bridge of her nose a moment while she tried to think. "February 28th. Why? And stupid minions."

"Really?" Bridge blinks. "It's just, because, well, it's the 29th here. Leap year. And I was thinking about it, and how the dates seem to pretty much match up with 2008 most of the time, except now we've got a date here that doesn't exist there so I was like, is that going to throw our calendars out of sync? Or something? Or maybe we wouldn't be able to contact you until we're both on March 1st, except here I am talking to you so obviously not that last thing."

Parker listened to this, and ended up having to lie down. "Okay, now my head hurts. Worse. Because it's bad enough you live in the future, but now you live in a non-synchronized future, and is it going to match up again the next time we have a leap year here? Gah. Ow. Thanks, Bridge."

"I'm sorry!" Bridge says sheepishly. "I didn't mean to do that. I can't help thinking about stuff. I think maybe sometimes I think too much, if that's possible."

"The three cups of coffee and no-sleep weren't helping," Parker informed him. "I am having too many thoughts too. But you still worry me, Bridgey."

"After six years apart and time-travel and sleeping our way back from the past, can any of us even keep track anyway?" floats over from Xander, who just wandered into the living room in Newtech City with coffee.

Parker snickered weakly. "So we're just all on non-standard Fandom Time? Does that help?"

"Yeah, my birthday's technically in April now, I think," Bridge comments idly. "But Fandom Time, I like that. It works."

"Especially since everything else about Fandom seems to keep following us off the island," Xander says dryly. Not that he actually knows for sure that recent...problems... were a result of Fandom not-so-wacky. That would require actually talking to someone about it which NO.

Which, sadly, Parker hadn't even noticed. Way too much studying that week.

"I gave the money back. Mailed it back, anyway." Parker shook her head. "And yeah. It really does. So I should quit trying to call you guys at 4am, or not, I'll just get you when I'm meant to get you?" She frowned. "What the hell time is it, anyway?"

"Um, late morning? Or early afternoon? One of those."
