She's also making a few phone calls to friends today. Some people she IM'd earlier this week and so she doesn't need to talk to now

"Parker!" Anders's voice was groggy; it was something past 1 in the morning, after all. "This better be a good reason for calling me at ass o'clock."

Groggy, yes, but definitely not complaining, and definitely happy to hear from her.

"I'm happy, Daisy! And you didn't have to answer your phone," Parker responded, curling up on the porch swing. "But I'm glad you did. Wait. Are Phoebe and Bel curled up next to you?"

"No, I got out of bed," Anders replied. "It was the kindest thing to do for everybody's sake. What's got you so cheerful, huh?"

"Fun little vacation out of town," Parker sang. "With guy."

Anders chuckled knowingly. "Say no more. Way to go, Parker."

[mparkerceo]

"Awwww," Parker teased. "Fine, be like that. So, good mood, and much calling. How are things back on the crazy island of weird toys?"

"The cats turned human on Saturday for no apparent reason," Anders replied, in the casual way that only Fandom residents could manage when talking about these things. "Bel is working on the reconstruction so I get my daily entertainment . . . pity you're not here to check out the Mountie."

"Isabel sent me photos!" Parker glee'd. "And now you have to as well, if he's looking particularly cute and sweaty one day. How was it dealing with cats who had opposable thumbs?"

"You know that superior look cats give you?" asked Anders. "It's a million times more ego-crushing from a human face."

Parker started laughing, and it took her a good five minutes to stop.

"...hee. Okay. Ahem. Glad they didn't stay that way," she said, highly amused. "How've you been keeping busy in the meantime?"

"Oh, you know, the usual," he said lightly. "Learning how to blow things up, finding new and creative ways to get myself blown up at high speed . . . just workshops, and spending time with Phoebe and Bel, and making sure not to get injured."

"We heartily approve and endorse that last part," Parker said. "Enough to put it on a campaign sticker, even. Sooo, mostly getting blown up, and not turned into things? No new threats from the Clan Halliwell?"

"No new ones," Anders confirmed. "Just the usual with Chris not trusting me."

[mparkerceo]

"The dork. Want me to e-mail him to lay off?" Parker offered. "He probably won't, but I can not figure out what his problem is. His aunt's in an unconventional relationship, why isn't he threatening Bel? Unless he is and you forgot to mention it."

Anders snorted. "Probably because I can't make him extra crispy at the flick of a wrist. It's okay, Parker, really. Phoebe's plenty pissed at him as it is for how he acts around me and Bel."

"Well, that's something. Gah. This is why I prefer to not to date or deal with guys younger than I am." She shook her head, then said, "I'm hoping to be back around Blue Cove and D.C. around the 4th of July-- my schedule's more set, now. You're going to be there, right? Not going on vacation anywhere else?"
