Moz stood surrounded by a group in the market, people coming and going from it - giving their opinions sometimes before they left. Others just leaving the moment they heard what was said. The idea that some might be the Mallrat's informants crossed her mind, but that couldn't be helped.
"What good is the hospital in it's present location? On Mallrat turf? It belongs to the city." She was saying. "How many members of other tribes are going to appreciate having to go to another tribe's area for treatment. And the gates are closed at night. What good is it then?"
"Do they have enough people to man the hospital at night?" Someone asked.
"Maybe if it wasn't on their private property they'd get some more voluneers."
"But it wasn't always in the Mall. It was moved because it was destroyed." Someone else brought up.
"Isn't that the purpose of the Militia? To protect the city, the market, the people?" Moz countered.
"What militia?" Someone shouted bitterly. "They certainly haven't stopped the Color Wars."
Moz smiled smugly. "No, they haven't, have they? And where should these complaints be taken? To the City Leader. But you can't see her without Mallrat permission because her office is in the MALL." Grumbling grew around her, and she let it grow. "We have the right to make our grievances known. Salene was voted to rule the city, not the MALLRATS, but Salene. I think it's time the Mallrats stopped trying to have more say in how the city is run than any of the other tribes." The grumbling grew louder.
"The Mallrats are to blame for the continuing Color Wars!" Someone shouted toward the back.
"That's just a rumor!" Another person countered.
"It's the truth!" Someone else shouted.
"There's no proof!"
Moz frowned, holding up her hands for silence, which came. "There is no proof, but there is the possiblity of it being true. Who can say who's behind the unrest in the city? But our Militia should be protecting us." Murmurs grew again, this time in approval. "The Hospital shouldn't be on Mallrat turf." The murmurs grew louder. "The City Leader's Office should be in Neutral territory, where you won't have to be approved by a MALLRAT to see her." The audience roared it's approval. Moz nodded. "I'm going to pay the City Leader a visit, and make these demands known. Can I count on your support?" The gathered crowd shouted it's support.
Moz smirked.
