The Wicker Man
Ok...not sure if any of you are fans of the original, "The Wicker Man" staring Edward Woodward, Christopher Lee, Diane Cilento, Britt Ekland, Ingrid Pitt, Robin Hardy, and more. Directed by Robin Hardy.
"The Wicker Man" is really a cult classic...and if you are into cult classics and haven't watched it...shame on you. You can rent it in most video stores. Or if you are really ambitions and haven't done so already, there is an amazing Special Edition DVD version in a hand carved wood case which runs for about $45 and some change.
The basic plot of the story is:
"Sgt. Howie (Edward Woodward) travels to Summerisle to investigate the disappearance of a young girl. He discovers that the locals are weird and unhelpful, and becomes determined to get to the bottom of the disappearance."
So with that said...there is a NEW - "The Wicker Man" being released on 9/1/06. Staring Nicholas Cage, Ellen Burstyn, Kate Beahan, Francis Conroy, Molly Parker, Leelee Sobiski and Diane Deland. Written for the Screen and Directed by Neil LaBute.
I watched the trailer...all I can say is...interesting, but we shall see. If you're interested...click on the first link below to go to the main web site or click the second link to directly access the Trailer for "The Wicker Man". Both end up taking you to the same place...but the first gives you more of a detour...and I presume that additional info will be added at a later date concerning the movie.
