*I'm about to start on season four of The Sopranos. S3 was definately the strongest so far. I can't wait to get all caught up. I like how this show asks you to care for these despicable people, though how much you actually care for them is left up to you.
*I'm in the middle of season one of Big Love right now. Does anyone watch this show? Fantastic! One of the most unique television plots ever. I definately recommed it. The cast is superb.
*Under the cut are my thoughts on tonight's episodes of House and Law and Order: Special Victims Unit. Includes a mini rant about Criminal Intent, as well.
HOUSE: "Resignation"
*Again, the POTW was pretty weak. What happened to all those fascinating cases they had in S1? Now, every week people just randomly cough up blood and the reason behind it ends up being some infection. Meh.
*I really hope that Foreman doesn't actually leave. Last week I was worried. This week I have a little more hope because he seems to be breaking down and reconsidering his resignation.
*Not enough House/Cuddy.
*I loved Wilson in this episode. Winking at that patient while on speed? Brilliant! He really brightened up the episode. I love the House/Wilson friendship. It's seriously one of the main reasons I watch the show.
*House and ANOTHER younger woman? I don't know about this. They said she was twenty-six, which is only three years older than me. I know I'm not easily turned on my men who are almost fifty, moody and walk with a cane. We all love House (myself included) but he's not the type women my age go for.
*I don't have too much to say. Overall, it was a mediocre episode (kind of like the whole season). I really hope that S4 goes back the excellence of S1. I miss that.
LAW AND ORDER: SPECIAL VICTIMS UNIT: "Annihilated"
*The storyline was decent, although it seems pretty elaborate to me for a guy to kill his entire family in retaliation for their finding out about his secret fiancee. But, whatever. People can be crazy enough.
*Lot's of angry Elliot in this one. We were due for more of his storyline after all the Olivia/Simon drama.
*Elliot and Kathy...getting back together? I don't know how I feel about that.
*I really like the ambiguity of the closing scene, where Elliot walks past Cragen, Munch, Finn and Olivia without saying a word, and into the elevator. What was he thinking about? His family? His anger at the murderer?
*Overall, it was a good episode, but not great. I do like how this season has really been focusing on the emotions of the characters and how their job and the horror that comes with it really affects them.
LAW AND ORDER: CRIMINAL INTENT
*So, there has been word that it will be cancelled after this season due to poor ratings (along with the original Law and Order). I didn't watch this weeks episode because I don't like Logan/Wheeler. But I think I may have avoided it even if it had been a Goren/Eames week. Why? Because for two weeks in a row the episodes have literally been ripped from the headlines. First, the astronaut killer, this week a recreation of the death of Anna Nicole Smith and her son. What is the point of that? I wouldn't be surprised if next week they did one on a school shooting, identical to the Virginia Tech massacre. I don't like when a great show like Criminal Intent has to rely on such unoriginal plots. It's a bad sign when a failing show can't think up any more stories. If they keep this up they are only going to continue losing viewers.
At least SVU is safe.
