The Office: Season Two
I finished the second season of The Office (U.S. version). Just thought I'd make some random comments, but I'll put them under the cut because they do contain spoilers.
THE EPISODES:
*The Dundies: Great season opener. I actually related to this episode and the whole cheesy idea of giving out employee awards. I used to work at a movie theatre and the manager did something similar. lol. Anyway, I just thought it was great. It had DJ Dwight, host Michael, drunk Pam and the beginnings of Michael's true feelings for Ryan. One of my favourites.
*Office Olympics: I just thought this was a lot of fun. Every single one of the stupid games they played, I want to do if I ever end up working in an office one day.
*The Fire: I love playing Desert Island. Plus, it had Dwight and Michael singing "Ryan started the fire!". Great stuff.
*Booze Cruise: I just really enjoyed this episode mostly because of Jim's reaction to Pam and Roy setting a wedding date. Plus, it had people jumping out of the windows with lifejackets.
*The Carpet: I loved this episode mostly for the scene at the opening when Ryan is taking over reception for Pam while she's on vacation. He talks about how Jim keeps looking over at him. Then he say's, "But it's not as weird as the creepy way Michael looks at me", the camera pans from Ryan sitting at the desk to a pervey Michael staring at him through the blinds of his office. Hilarious!
*Casino Night: Because this was a cliffhanger. I haven't seen anything from season three and I'm trying to avoid spoilers of any sort. I know that Jim goes to work somewhere else, but that's about it. So, for me, the kiss between Jim and Pam was a nice surprise.
THE CAST
*Steve Carell is so fantastic. I love this man. He's just so funny. Even when he's being annoying or racist, you can't help but laugh. I love his relationship with Dwight who, if you think about it, is really Michael Scott's soulmate! lol. I also love his "relationship" with Jan. And his man-crush on Ryan, which never fails to amuse me. And that fact that his alias is Agent Michael Scarn!
*Rainn Wilson always used to be Arthur to me (from Six Feet Under). Now I fully embrace him as Dwight "Danger" Schrute. I can't even count how many times he makes me laugh in every episode. I loved his Mussolini-inspired speech, his karate moves, his marijuana interrogations, his exercise ball, his bobblehead doll, etc. Oh, and I love Dwight/Angela. Great stuff.
*John Krasinski is so cute. I love all his facial expressions and I just love the character of Jim Halpert. I love all the pranks, especially the ones involving jello. As the office practical joker, he's as great as they come. And as someone who was once in Jim's spot in a work relationship, I find I can relate to him the most. I also hate Roy (as most people do) so I'm totally rooting for Jim/Pam.
*Jenna Fisher is so adorable as Pam Beesley. I can see why some of the boys on my FList have crushes on her. I love her character and, with the exception of her engagement to Roy, I love how she handles herself.
*B.J. Novak is so funny as Ryan Howard. He doesn't say much, but his expressions tell it all. I love watching his reactions. You can see the terror on his face when he's being hit on by Michael, or just by the fact that he's stuck working with these people. Awesomeness! Plus, I think he's the best looking Office employee. Black hair and blue eyes? SO my type!
*Everyone else is great, especially Stanley, Kevin, Oscar, Phyllis and Angela!
Anyway, that was long. And probably pointless. But I'm so in love with this show! It's my new addiction and I have to wait months and months until season three comes out on DVD. Boo-urns.
